Mapo beauty salon lash lift with defined curls: Iyo Shop

Even after using an eyelash curler, my lashes would look like I had barely used one within an hour. I was so tired of lashes that would quickly fall flat no matter which product I tried, so I went for a lash lift.

Getting to Iyo Shop near Gongdeok Station and parking

Iyo Shop is a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gongdeok Station, in the Park Palace 2 retail building. There is also 2 hours of free parking in the building, and a bus stop is 3 minutes away, so it was easy to get to.

I went up to the second floor using the outdoor stairs on the left side of the building. Iyo Shop is right there when you enter. I booked through Naver before visiting. Leaving an inquiry, waiting for a reply, and coordinating a time is just too much hassle. A place with the Naver booking system gets a huge thumbs-up from me. 😉

When you walk in, the consultation area is the first thing you see. The overall atmosphere was neat and clean.

I also liked that the treatment area farther inside was separated. Everything from the bed onward looked clean and hygienic, which I was happy with.

Consultation and choosing the hydrating nourishing lash lift

Before starting the lash lift, we carefully discussed which style I wanted.

• Hydrating nourishing lift — basic
• Black tinting lift — for a mascara-like look
• Nourishing + black tinting lift — mascara effect plus nourishment
• Dual lift — for both upper and lower lashes

There were four types of lash lifts at Gongdeok, and since I absolutely prefer a natural look, I chose the hydrating nourishing lift. They did not ask about the curl separately, so I simply asked for it to look as natural as possible!! In particular, I said I did not want the curl at the inner corners of my eyes lifted too sharply. It took about 1 hour in total.

The vanity has cotton pads, cotton swabs, and a spoolie brush ready. I tidied up my face a little, then headed home 🚗

Defined curls that lasted even after 2 weeks

Ignore the background 🤣 When I got home and looked closely, my eyes felt so unfamiliar. Haha, I do not usually wear heavy makeup, so seeing my eyes like this felt so awkward ㅠㅠ But they did look more defined, haha.

⚠️ Purple monster warning ⚠️ It has been about 2 weeks now, and the curl is still holding up well because it was set firmly and strongly from the roots. I usually only use an eyelash curler for a natural curl, but trying this sharply lifted, eye-defining curl made a real statement even without mascara. The owner lifted the curl firmly with her own know-how, so I really have to give it credit for staying power. I no longer need to curl my lashes every morning, which has shortened my time getting ready for work.

Tips for making a lash lift last longer ✨

• Avoid washing your face with water for 3–4 hours on the day of the treatment: Until the curl is fully set, take care not to expose it to water, sweat, or humidity right after the treatment.
• Avoid rubbing your eyes and sleeping face-down: Pressing or rubbing the lashes can make the curl bend messily or change direction.
• Use a water-based cleanser instead of an oil cleanser: Oil-rich or cream cleansers can reduce the lift's staying power, so a light cleansing water is recommended.
• Apply a lash serum every morning and evening: Consistently applying serum to lashes that have become dry after the treatment provides moisture and helps keep the curl direction neatly in place.
• Do not use an eyelash curler!: It can irritate and damage your lashes, so avoid using one until the lift has worn off.
