Yongsan Pilates studio with 3D body analysis: Lu Pilates
In short
Lu Pilates is a Pilates studio between Yongsan Station and Sinyongsan Station in Seoul. I tried its Motipizio 3D body analysis, personalized one-on-one lessons, and acupressure stretching before signing up regularly after feeling a difference. Verdict: a great place to start with a trial pass if group classes feel intimidating.

Lately, more and more of my friends have been doing Pilates! Since I’m a beginner, group classes can feel a little intimidating, so I looked around and visited Lu Pilates (루필라테스) near Yongsan Station.
The director was genuinely so lovely, so I felt very comfortable during the consultation, and the lessons were professional too. I want to keep learning, so I’m considering a regular pass! There seem to be lots of office workers around Yongsan Station, and it felt conveniently located for attending classes as well.
Lu Pilates reservations and location
Booking a trial pass

You can easily book Lu Pilates through Naver or KakaoTalk. Before committing to a multi-session package, I wanted to try a workout session first.

Lu Pilates has a range of trial programs, so there were plenty of passes to choose from. Prices are listed on Naver Booking too, so I could reserve the program I wanted right away without the hassle of checking prices separately!
Between Yongsan Station and Sinyongsan Station

Lu Pilates sits between Yongsan Station on Line 1 and Sinyongsan Station on Line 4, so it was very easy to get to. Parking is also available in the building, so visitors can choose whichever is more convenient: driving or public transportation.
Lu Pilates is on the third floor of Yongsan Prugio Summit. There are directory boards for the shops on every floor of the building, so you can use those as a guide!

I marked out the route for first-time visitors! Take the escalator at the main entrance, turn immediately left, and go around the corner to find Lu Pilates.
Sunlit interior and workout facilities

One of Lu Pilates’ many strengths was being able to work out in a sunlit space with views over Yongsan. The clean facilities and sunlight made my workout time even more enjoyable.

I don’t know Pilates equipment professionally, but there were a variety of machines, so I could use equipment suited to different needs while working out. Exercising on such versatile equipment under the director’s expert guidance made my stiff body feel refreshed.

There is also a changing room, so you can comfortably change into workout clothes! Store your belongings in a personal locker.

They also sell cute Pilates socks, so if you forget to bring socks, you can pick some up at the studio!
One-on-one lessons after 3D body analysis

Before getting into the workout properly, I tried Lu Pilates’ own Motipizio 3D body analysis.

It was really great to see at a glance, using professional equipment, what issues my body had and which muscles were weak.

The body-analysis results are also sent by email, so you can examine them in detail after the lesson. The director analyzed my posture using the machine and guided my workout according to the results.
I took two lessons with the director, and I was extremely satisfied because the customized exercises focused as much as possible on improving my particular postural issues.
The class begins with Lu Pilates’ signature acupressure stretching as a basic warm-up. I do like acupressure, but even just the foot acupressure felt so relieving.

During class, I didn’t think it was high-intensity exercise, but afterward the stimulation had worked so well that I even got sore muscles.
Even with stretches like these, I was sweating from muscles I don’t normally use. The lesson gave my muscles a stimulus while keeping it gentle enough that my already uncomfortable body was not overly strained.
The movements were slow and detailed, and my stretching range of motion really increased before and after class. From Pilates breathing techniques to the finishing stretches, working out one-on-one with such a skilled teacher truly felt like receiving professional guidance.
Why I signed up regularly after feeling a difference

After working out with the director, I really felt a big change in my body and even completed a regular registration with my own money! The director has such a lovely personality, but her skills are truly excellent too.
If you’re considering Pilates near Yongsan Station, I think it would be great to try a trial pass first! I recommend Lu Pilates!
