Today I visited "Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch," a well-known restaurant near Uijeongbu Station! 🩵 It's famous as a spot near Uijeongbu City Hall too! I'll show you the interior photos and the menu in detail 🤍

It's near the Uijeongbu new downtown area, so it's famous there too!! It's also close to Uijeongbu City Hall 🫶

Lunch specials, weekdays only: galbi sotbap set for ₩11,000

There's also a separate lunch special menu, but it's only available on weekdays, so keep that in mind!

Here's the exterior of Manpo Galbi! The free handmade naengmyeon really catches your eye! And the galbi sotbap set in the lunch special is only 11,000 won — that's honestly cheap and looks delicious!!

Inside: the vibe and the baby chairs

Once you're inside, they give you an individually wrapped spoon and chopstick set! Passed the hygiene check right away!!

They also have baby chairs, and the quality is better than what you usually see at regular restaurants! It's a plush baby chair with a backrest! I hope it becomes known as the go-to restaurant with baby chairs near Uijeongbu Station!! haha

The inside feels open, and even though it's a charcoal grill place, there's no smoke! Even though I visited around 11:30 on a weekend, there were already a lot of people there — families eating out, sports club dinners, and people celebrating birthdays.

The real highlight: the side dishes, including yukhoe

The real highlight here is the side dishes!

So many side dishes come out, all beautifully and neatly arranged

Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), fried mushrooms, mu-saengchae (spicy radish salad), potato salad, lettuce for wraps, and more — the japchae was still steaming ㅠㅠ It had been a while since I had warm japchae, and it was genuinely delicious!!

And then — ta-da! Yukhoe comes out ㅠㅠ Yukhoe as a basic side dish, seriously fresh and tastier than places that specialize in yukhoe, so I finished it all before the meat even hit the grill. This is genuinely the first time I've seen a place give yukhoe as a free side dish!!!

There are three types of dipping sauce for the meat too, and the one in the middle has this subtly spicy ssamjang (spicy dipping paste) flavor — I kept going back for more

And then the charcoal comes out!! Pork galbi grilled over charcoal is just so good! I was super excited~~

Two servings of marinated pork galbi, and the meat was genuinely thick! Being thick made it that much more satisfying to eat

The charcoal was pretty strong, but surprisingly the meat barely burned! And whenever you ask, they swap the grill plate right away!

The stir-fried kimchi that came with it was such a hit grilled on the charcoal too — I kept reaching for more! It was so good I'd want to come back just for this haha

I ate the grilled meat in all kinds of ways — with sliced onion, naengmyeon, mu-saengchae, dipped in ssamjang. And apparently the marinade for this pork galbi isn't just a regular marinade, it's made with blended fruit. Maybe that's why it had this addictive flavor you never get tired of!

And here's the handmade naengmyeon! It's Hamhung-style, and the egg garnish was thinly sliced and tasty, cool and refreshing, just perfect. And this is free!!!! Amazing, right!! Getting this free with a meat order is genuinely great value!

The last highlight is definitely the galbi!! Galbi only tastes right grilled over charcoal! I finished it all, down to the last piece, no leftovers!!

That was "Manpo Galbi," a truly, truly delicious pork galbi restaurant in Uijeongbu!! I heard it's known as a top spot near Uijeongbu Station, and now I get why!
