Seolleung Chinese date spot: Peking duck with Hong Kong egg noodles

I was looking for a nice date spot near Seolleung Station and ended up at Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch, which has been buzzing as a Gangnam hotspot :)

I usually love Peking duck, but unless you're at a fancy hotel, there aren't many places to really enjoy it properly, so it's always been a bit disappointing…

Red-toned interior straight out of a Hong Kong movie

Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch had a red-toned, hip vibe throughout the space, so my expectations were already sky-high before I even ate anything.

To describe the feeling — it's like stepping into a scene from a Hong Kong film, with clean, upscale Chinese-style interior that's perfect for a date.

The place is spacious and tidy overall, with private rooms available too. Seeing lots of office workers having company dinners on a weekday evening, I immediately understood why it's also popular as a spot for after-work meetups.

Half Peking duck: how much for two?

What I was most curious about this time was the half Peking duck, so I ordered it along with the Hong Kong-style stir-fried egg noodles.

When the table was set and the half Peking duck first arrived, it looked like it might be a bit small for two people to share.

But once we actually started wrapping the golden-roasted duck meat with vegetables and eating, we got so full that we ended up leaving some — the portion was really generous.

Most of all, the duck meat had all the excess fat trimmed off, with a smoky aroma that made it clear from the very first bite that this was a carefully made, high-quality dish.

The skin was crispy yet chewy with a satisfying bite, while the meat itself was juicy and moist, full of flavor.

Wrapping it up with unlimited wheat pancakes, scallion strips, and cucumber

To really enjoy Peking duck properly, you need the classic combo of thin, warm pancakes piled with duck meat, scallion strips, and cucumber, all dipped in the special sauce.

With the light duck meat and refreshing vegetables dipped lightly in the savory sauce, it just kept going down without any greasiness at all, haha.

Best of all, the wheat pancakes, scallion strips, and cucumber were all unlimited refills, so we could wrap and eat as much as we wanted without any hesitation — super satisfying.

The Hong Kong-style stir-fried egg noodles served alongside had a nice chewy texture and just the right amount of seasoning.

Honestly, if you ate the Peking duck on its own, the duck meat's flavor might come across as a bit heavy,

but eating it together with the Hong Kong-style stir-fried egg noodles balanced everything out nicely.

A savory, tender bite of duck followed by a clean, savory forkful of egg noodles was a perfect pairing — I think I'll go with this combo again next time.

Drinking a cold soda alongside the Peking duck made everything feel a bit more refreshing haha. If driving weren't an issue, I'd definitely have Tsingtao with it next time.

Looking around at the other tables, even though it was a weekday, I saw plenty of couples on dates as well as office workers enjoying an after-work drink and groups having company dinners.

Since the vegetables are unlimited refills, being able to order via tablet or QR code without feeling awkward about asking made things really convenient. The staff were also kind enough to explain the menu and how to eat everything.

Delicious Peking duck, a hip atmosphere, and free corkage service — it's more than worthy of being a Gangnam date hotspot.
