What kind of restaurant is Eohaerang Wang Kodari in Yuryang-dong?
Eohaerang Wang Kodari Cheonan Yuryang-jeom (어해랑왕코다리 천안유량점) is a Korean restaurant on Taejosan-gil in Yuryang-dong, Cheonan, specializing in braised kodari (dried pollack). It's open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, last order at 8:30 PM, and there's a large parking lot right in front.
The place turned out bigger than I expected, with plenty of parking, so it was easy to visit by car. It seemed especially good for family outings or gatherings where you need to feed a group.

Inside Eohaerang Wang Kodari: dining room and private rooms

Walking inside, the space felt clean and spacious overall. With its white tones, it had a tidier, more polished feel than your typical kodari restaurant.

There were also separate private rooms, which seemed well suited to family gatherings or work dinners where you want a quieter spot to eat.

That's probably why it also looked like a decent option for group gatherings near Taejosan looking for a restaurant.

Ordering Couple Set A and the side dish spread
We ordered Couple Set A at Eohaerang Wang Kodari Cheonan Yuryang-jeom that day. And instead of plain rice, we swapped it for iron-pot rice. When you're eating Korean food, having the rice done right just makes everything feel better, haha. After a short wait, the main dish arrived along with the side dishes, one by one.

Seaweed salad, pickles, bean sprouts, a green salad, and seaweed soup — a neat, well-rounded spread! With so many side dishes, it was fun to pick at them one by one while waiting for the main course.
If you love braised kodari, try switching to iron-pot rice to go with it. It's the perfect combo for a day when you want to eat a proper, filling meal, rice and all.
How the braised kodari tasted
The braised kodari at Eohaerang Wang Kodari Cheonan Yuryang-jeom came in a spicy-sweet sauce with rice cake mixed in. The kodari flesh was thick and the sauce soaked in evenly, making it great with rice.

Just looking at it, the sauce was piled on thick, and I could tell right away it would go well with rice. Pulling off a piece of the kodari, the flesh was quite thick and the sauce had soaked in evenly.

The sauce leaned spicy-sweet, though personally I would have liked it a touch spicier. Still, the sweetness and saltiness balanced out well, and it was the kind of flavor that kept making me want more rice.

Maybe because the rice cake was mixed in, the sauce had a bit of a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) vibe to it. I'm a fan of that kind of sauce, so I piled kodari flesh and rice cake together on top of the rice. This combo is surprisingly good.

There was already plenty of siraegi (dried radish greens) without adding extra, haha. If you love siraegi, you could still add more.
Sweet and sour boneless kodari and the nurungji finish

This was my first time trying kodari sweet and sour chicken-style dish! One bite of the freshly fried piece and I was glad we ordered it, haha. Then we poured hot water into the leftover rice in the iron pot and finished off with nurungji (scorched rice). Ending the braised kodari meal with nurungji felt like the perfect close to the course!

Is Eohaerang Wang Kodari worth it for a meal near Taejosan?
Eohaerang Wang Kodari Cheonan Yuryang-jeom felt less like a place for just the main dish and more like a spot to visit when you want a hearty, satisfying meal. Since braised kodari pairs so well with rice, it's a good option if you're looking for lunch in Yuryang-dong or want a filling Korean meal near Taejosan.
The restaurant is spacious and parking is generous, which is a clear advantage when moving around as a group. It seems handy for family meals, get-togethers with friends, or company dinners.
