Dog-friendly Goyang BBQ with ₩1,000 naengmyeon: Baekseok Kkogijip

In short

Baekseok Kkogijip is a dog-friendly Korean BBQ restaurant in the Baekseok-dong restaurant alley of Ilsandong-gu, Goyang. The two-person raw meat set (₩49,000) plus one extra serving of samgyeopsal (₩17,000) came to ₩66,000, and because Baekseok Kkogijip grills the meat in the kitchen and brings it out on the hot stone plate, there is no oil splatter and no smoke smell in your clothes. On weekday lunch, naengmyeon is ₩1,000 with a meat order — if you want Korean BBQ with your dog and no smell, Baekseok Kkogijip is the answer.

Today I visited a really comfortable and special restaurant in the Baekseok-dong restaurant alley in Ilsan — 'Baekseok Kkogijip.'

If you love meat but find grilling it yourself a bit of a hassle, and you're bothered by the smell sticking to your clothes — and if you're a dog parent who's wanted to dine out with your beloved pup — please read this post to the end!

The first thing I want to praise! This is a rare 'pet-friendly' Korean BBQ restaurant in Ilsan.

Seating where you can dine with your dog

Even if you're drawn in by the delicious smell while walking your dog, you can dine comfortably together here — it's truly like an oasis in the desert. Parking is easy too, right in the space in front of the shop.

Inside Baekseok Kkogijip: atmosphere and seating

When I visited, there were quite a lot of customers already dining. So I couldn't get thorough photos of the whole interior, worried it might disturb other guests' meals.

Besides the seats you see in the photo, there's plenty more comfortable seating further inside, so groups should have no trouble at all!

Now let me introduce the most important part — the menu and some handy tips.

Weekday lunch menu: naengmyeon for ₩1,000

First off, visiting during lunch hours (weekdays 12 PM–3 PM) gets you huge perks!

Menu board showing weekday lunch perks

If you order meat, you can get ice-cold naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) with slushy ice for just ₩1,000 — cold enough to give you a brain freeze haha.

Which lunch set is the best value?

  • The value-packed 'yukhoe bibimbap + doenjang jjigae' set: ₩10,000
  • Kimchi jjigae + self-serve fried egg + unlimited ramen noodles, all for just ₩8,000!

Perfect for filling up on a hearty lunch, right?

À la carte meat menu and prices

  • Seasoned beef short rib (250g): ₩25,000
  • Seasoned grilled pork (250g): ₩18,000
  • Pork belly/pork neck (180g): ₩17,000
  • Hanwoo yukhoe (Korean beef tartare): ₩25,000
  • Tasting-size yukhoe: ₩15,000

I wanted to try a bit of everything, so I went with the set menu!

To keep the meat flowing without interruption, I added an extra serving of samgyeopsal and ate heartily haha. Two-person set ₩49,000 + extra samgyeopsal ₩17,000 = ₩66,000 total

For the stew, I chose between kimchi jjigae and doenjang sulbap (savory rice soup with soybean paste) — went with the hearty, savory doenjang sulbap. The rice soup was delicious.

The side dishes that come with the meat

The basic side dishes include lettuce wraps, peppers, crunchy radish salad, and myeongi-namul (wild garlic leaves) that's a real 'meat thief.'

You also get corn cheese, fluffy steamed egg, and a side of doenjang jjigae — the whole works.

The spicy-tangy lettuce and scallion salad in particular had such deep flavor — it paired perfectly with the meat, so I kept eating it together.

Honestly I didn't expect much from the 'tasting yukhoe' included in the set, but I was surprised by how good the quality was.

They thoughtfully served the egg yolk separately in a small dish, so you can mix it in to your own taste.

Pre-grilled meat: why there's no smoke smell

Today's highlight! The best thing about Baekseok Kkogijip is that the meat is 'completely grilled in the kitchen' before it comes out. Zero worry about oil splattering while you grill!

There's absolutely no risk of a strong meat smell soaking into your hair or clothes, which makes it so, so pleasant. As soon as the meat is served, all you have to do is pick up your chopsticks.

Pre-grilled samgyeopsal and vegetables on the hot stone plate

On top of that, the hot stone plate comes with grilled peppers, onions, and juicy king oyster mushrooms served alongside the meat, cutting the richness and adding fiber for a healthy, delicious meal.

The doenjang sulbap I chose comes out in an earthenware pot with rice simmered right in, and it's loaded with meat too — it really hit the spot and was super filling.

By the way, if you choose 'kimchi jjigae' as your set stew, you can help yourself to unlimited ramen noodles!

Does Baekseok Kkogijip work for a second round of drinks?

One last tip for making the most of Baekseok Kkogijip! This place is great for a hearty first-round meal, but I'd also recommend it as a second-round drinking spot.

If you're already a bit full, you can order just a single yukhoe as a light side dish, and doenjang jjigae, steamed egg, and corn cheese all come as basic sides — an excellent-value second stop, don't you think?

For anyone who wants to eat meat cleanly and comfortably without worrying about smell, and for anyone who wants to enjoy a delicious meal out with their beloved dog, I recommend 'Baekseok Kkogijip.'
