In short

Rigo Susan Jeonpo Station Main Branch is an aged sashimi bar (hoe) a short walk from Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station in Busanjin, Busan. The writer arrived with her husband at 11pm on a Friday for the aged sashimi combo platter at 49,000 won with soju at 5,000 won, including the new Saero Omija soju, and found the set courses — okonomiyaki, California roll and udon — as impressive as the sashimi. For late-night sashimi and drinks in Jeonpo-dong, Rigo Susan Jeonpo Station Main Branch is a filling, good-value choice.

I stopped by Rigo Susan Jeonpo Station Main Branch, a bar near Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station in Busan, and enjoyed an aged sashimi combo platter. Perfect aging on the fish, a hearty spread of basic side dishes, and pairing it with the new soju flavor Saero Omija made this place a complete package — let me introduce it.

Blue, ocean-themed exterior of the Rigo Susan storefront

The exterior was clean and had a strong blue, oceanic feel, which built up my expectations right from the entrance.

Stylish interior seating inside Rigo Susan

Stepping inside, I noticed a cozy yet stylish interior, and the tables were spaced comfortably, making it a great spot for a relaxed drink. The lighting was soft too, perfect for a date or catching up with friends.

Rigo Susan's dining hall with no wait at 11pm on a Friday

I visited around 11pm on a Friday and there was no wait, but on weekend evenings there might normally be a line.

Highball and soju menu listing at Rigo Susan

Looking at the menu, there was a wide variety of seafood and sashimi dishes prepared. The main representative dishes — aged sashimi combo platter, gizzard shad sashimi set, and live raw shrimp set — were all priced at ₩49,000. There were also a few other seafood dishes worth pairing with. The drink selection was wide too, from regular soju to various highballs.

Table at Rigo Susan with a raw shrimp season sign

We ordered the aged sashimi combo, but since it's raw shrimp season right now, a lot of people were ordering that too. They said they fry the heads separately, which sounds like a nice treat as well!

Is the 49,000-won aged sashimi platter worth it?

What we ordered at Rigo Susan Jeonpo Station Main Branch was the aged sashimi combo platter for ₩49,000 and soju for ₩5,000.

Caramel popcorn served as a basic side dish at Rigo Susan

A simple snack to nibble on: caramel popcorn.

Japanese soy sauce placed on the table at Rigo Susan

True to a seafood-focused restaurant, even the soy sauce was Japanese soy sauce.

Saero Omija soju ordered at Rigo Susan

I was planning not to drink and let just my husband have some, but with side dishes like this, how could I resist? I saw they had the Omija Saero flavor and got curious, so I ordered that haha.

Generous basic side dish spread at Rigo Susan

Wow, seeing it in person was even more impressive than in photos — this basic spread alone could easily empty three bottles if you really sit down and drink.

Okonomiyaki served as a basic side dish

Okonomiyaki as a basic side dish...? Is this even real?

Plate of plump shrimp served as a basic side dish

The shrimp weren't dried out either — plump and juicy.

California roll included in the basic side dish spread

And there was even a California roll lol. So much for the idea that you'll go hungry at a sashimi restaurant — it can double as a meal.

Seasoned squid dish seasoned with sesame oil

This is seasoned squid — usually you mix it with chogochujang (vinegared chili paste), but I ate the vegetables separately and dipped it instead. It's already seasoned with sesame oil, so it was tasty even on its own.

Plate of fried squid and sweet potato

This is fried squid and sweet potato — the oil was drained well so it wasn't greasy at all.

And the udon was genuinely as good as what you'd get from a specialty shop! The broth was perfectly seasoned and the noodles were very chewy.

What comes on the platter: Spanish mackerel, salmon and amberjack

Aged sashimi combo of mackerel, salmon, and amberjack

Ta-da, finally the main aged sashimi combo platter — mackerel, salmon, and amberjack sashimi, served together with sushi rice. It was neatly sliced, and it wasn't just good-looking — my husband, a sashimi fanatic, said it had great depth of flavor and a chewy texture and ate it happily. Since I personally can only eat salmon when it comes to raw fish, my husband is usually disappointed we can't go to sashimi restaurants together, but here salmon was included too, so I was so happy 😆 (the salmon is all mine^^)

Full spread with the sashimi combo and all side dishes laid out

Just looking at it, the whole spread felt so plentiful~~

Glass of Saero Omija enjoyed alongside the sashimi combo

The Saero Omija wasn't overly fruity either — just enough to soften the bitterness of soju. It went down smoothly~ I said I wouldn't drink but ended up going for round two once we got home 🤣

Final verdict on Rigo Susan in Jeonpo-dong

If you're looking for a proper sashimi restaurant or bar in Jeonpo-dong, I'd recommend this place. At ₩49,000, the sashimi combo was generous, the basic side dishes alone were filling enough on their own, and the atmosphere was satisfying all around.
