In short
Susi Seon Bangi Branch is a Japanese restaurant in Songpa, Seoul, serving sushi, pork cutlet, and soba. I visited Susi Seon Bangi Branch for lunch in Bangi-dong. There are so many restaurants around Bangi-dong Food Alley that it is hard to decide where to go. That day, I was looking for somewhere that served sushi along with soba or pork cutlet, and that is how I ended up at Susi Seon.
We ordered two dishes: the Today’s Sushi A Set and the Cheese Pork Cutlet Soba Set. It was a nice spread for two people to share, since we could try sushi, pork cutlet, and soba all at once.

Susi Seon near Bangi-dong Food Alley
Susi Seon Bangi Branch is near Bangi-dong Food Alley, so it is easy to find for a meal. At lunchtime, it felt popular with nearby office workers and diners out for a meal in the area. We went in, found a table, and ordered.

The starters that arrived before the meal
A few complimentary items came out before our order. What stood out to me were the rice porridge and the salad-like dish. The porridge was warm and soothing, a nice way to start the meal, while the salad included noodles and chojang (sweet-tangy chili vinegar sauce), making it light and easy to eat.
It felt a little different from the standard salad I would expect at a sushi restaurant, so I kept reaching for it. It was good for a quick bite before the sushi arrived, and the tangy chojang whetted my appetite too.

What is in the Today’s Sushi A Set?
The first dish to arrive was the Today’s Sushi A Set. With several kinds of sushi arranged on one plate, it looked appetizing right away. That day’s selection included salmon, tuna, cooked shrimp, soy-marinated shrimp, and octopus wasabi. I prefer trying a range of sushi rather than focusing on just one kind, so I liked this set.

The fun of picking from different sushi
There was a wide range, from familiar salmon and tuna to cooked shrimp, soy-marinated shrimp, and octopus wasabi. The soy-marinated shrimp was especially memorable for its slightly sweet and salty flavor, while the octopus wasabi brought a sharp kick here and there that changed up the flow of the meal. Every sushi had its own flavor direction, and before I knew it, the plate was empty as I picked through them one by one.

Cheese Pork Cutlet Soba Set
The other dish we ordered was the Cheese Pork Cutlet Soba Set. Sushi alone felt a little incomplete, so we added pork cutlet and soba too. When the cutlet arrived and I cut into it, there was quite a lot of cheese inside.

Handmade pork cutlet filled with cheese
The cheese pork cutlet is described as handmade, and the cheese stretched out in long strands as soon as I cut it. There was plenty of cheese, so it was fun seeing it pull and stretch every time I lifted a piece. The crisp cutlet and softly melted cheese came together with a satisfyingly nutty richness.
It is completely different in character from sushi, so sharing it as a pair gave us more variety in what we could choose.

The cold soba that was unexpectedly memorable
I also tried the cold soba included in the Cheese Pork Cutlet Soba Set. I had come expecting the sushi and cheese pork cutlet to be the stars, but the cold soba was quite impressive too. The soba dipping sauce had a distinctive flavor that was a little different from what I usually have, and it paired well with the noodles.
Cold soba with pleasantly chewy noodles
More than the sauce, what I remember most about the cold soba was the noodle texture. The noodles were very springy, with a definite chew. The refreshing chill of cold soba combined with that chewiness made it great to take a bite of between bites of pork cutlet. Since the cheese pork cutlet was rich and substantial, the cold soba also felt like it refreshed my palate in the middle.

Sushi, pork cutlet, and cold soba together
The meal at Susi Seon Bangi Branch had plenty of variety, from sushi to pork cutlet and cold soba. The Today’s Sushi A Set was fun to pick through because it included not only salmon and tuna but also soy-marinated shrimp and octopus wasabi. The cheese pork cutlet was satisfying too, as a handmade cutlet generously filled with cheese.
With the complimentary porridge, chojang salad, and noodles as well, there were lots of things to taste from the start. Above all, the chewy cold soba noodles stayed with me more than I expected. If you are looking for sushi in Jamsil and want pork cutlet and soba alongside it, this kind of set could be a good option.
For lunch in Bangi-dong Food Alley
This time, I visited at lunchtime. There are so many options when you are looking for lunch around Bangi-dong Food Alley, but Susi Seon suited us when we wanted several dishes in one meal. Sharing a sushi set and the pork cutlet soba set gave us plenty of variety and enough food for two.
If sushi alone feels a little lacking, or someone in your group does not like sushi, being able to order pork cutlet and soba too also felt like a plus.
A Bangi-dong meal with varied sushi, handmade cheese pork cutlet with all that stretchy cheese, and chewy cold soba.
