Bolognese ragu pasta before a walk at Woelgwang Park: Otter Rabbit

This is a café I stopped by on a sunny day before heading out for a walk. Both the exterior and the interior are so pretty that pretty much any photo you take here turns out looking like a magazine shot. It sits in a fairly quiet spot without a busy backdrop, so it was calm and easy to chat, and the delicious, good-looking menu items are the kind that make your heart flutter. Here's my honest review of Otter Rabbit House, a brunch café near Woelgwang Subyeon Park in Sangin-dong.

What's the vibe of the exterior?

It's located across from Dowon Children's Park, a two-minute walk from the front gate of Dowon Middle School. I was surprised at how pretty the place was as soon as I arrived. The harmony between the lush green trees and the brick-colored building is lovely, isn't it? It gives you the pleasant illusion of being at some open-air café somewhere in Europe.

With the weather being so good too, arriving at a pretty place like this made me even happier — the wood-toned window frames and door feel so classy. Coming to a spot this atmospheric makes your heart go soft and fuzzy, you know? As a brunch café near Woelgwang Subyeon Park in Sangin-dong, it's definitely a place that stirs a girl's heart.

Parking

For parking, you can use roadside spots near the shop or the Dowon-dong public parking lot. Since it's not a crowded alley, it was easy to find a spot.

Interior

It was pretty even before you walk in, but the inside is even prettier. The creamy ivory walls and wood-toned furniture create a comfortable feeling. And the lighting uses warm orange-toned bulbs that match the tone of the furniture and walls, making it feel even cozier.

The view of the window from inside is pretty too. Right now, in late summer, lush green trees decorate the view outside. The walls aren't left plain either — tasteful paintings fill the space with even more atmosphere. It's a great spot for wedding invitation gatherings, couples' dates, or meeting friends and people you like.

They sell a variety of brunch items, but there are also bakery items, so it's nice to pair coffee with a simple dessert too.

You order at the kiosk. I decided to go hearty and make a full lunch out of brunch.

After ordering, you enter your phone number, and once your order is ready, a message comes through KakaoTalk like this. Once the message arrives, you go pick it up.

The dishes came out looking exactly like the photos on the menu, no difference at all. Visuals on point! It was just the right amount for two people to share, too. The plating was so pretty I almost couldn't bring myself to touch it.

Egg basil French toast

The egg basil French toast was just as gorgeous in real life as it looked in the menu photo. It felt packed with delicious things — fragrant basil pesto, fresh vegetables and cherry tomatoes, topped egg and cheese, crushed pepper, and more.

A soft, moist soft-boiled egg sat gently on top of the toast. I poked it with my fork, took about a million photos, and then finally dug in. The knife cut through cleanly — the bread sliced neatly. I cut it into bite-sized pieces and popped one in — the fragrant basil and olive oil aroma spread all through my mouth. Feels like a combo that's good for you too,

Bolognese ragu pasta

The bolognese ragu pasta was topped generously with fragrant arugula, giving it great flavor. Using wide noodles gave it a hearty, rustic bite that was nutty and had good texture. The small-cut onions, carrots, and potatoes blended beautifully with the ragu sauce.

Americano

I like an americano with a nutty flavor and no sourness, and this was exactly the taste I love! It paired really well with the brunch I ordered alongside it. I got pretty full, so I ended up waddling around during my walk.

Final thoughts

With the weather turning a bit cooler these days, it's a great season for walking and getting outside. It had been a while since I visited Woelgwang Subyeon Park, and crossing the bridge while looking out at the quiet reservoir view and strolling along the water felt really nice. I had no idea there was such a pretty, atmospheric spot on the Sangin-dong side — with brunch this good-looking and coffee this tasty, it's earned a spot as a café I definitely want to revisit with someone I love.
