Dalseo, Daegu brunch café for pistachio croissants: Otter Rabbit House

A European-style brunch café near Wolgwang Waterfront Park

I visited this European-style brunch café in Sangin-dong near Wolgwang Waterfront Park. Even the name is pretty: Otter Rabbit House (오터래빗하우스) 🤎 It is a brand from Ater in Yedasoop, a large café in Cheongdo, and it has opened locations one after another in Dowon-dong, Dalseo-gu, and Jongno, Jung-gu.

Everything was lovely, from the vintage furniture and fonts to the murals and menu boards 🤎 The pastry display and register were at the front, while a kiosk in the middle made both counter and contactless ordering possible.

A menu from bakery treats to brunch

There was a separate brunch menu, while the bakery selection focused on pies and pastries. The egg tarts, cinnamon pie, apple pie, and chocolate, almond and castella croissants all looked delicious. Otter Rabbit House is a Sangin-dong brunch café with plenty of meal options too, including jambon-beurre, salads, French toast and ragù tteokbokki pasta 🙂 I loved that it covered everything from baked goods to brunch.

Arched windows and a forest view of Dowon Children's Park

The generously sized round, arched lattice windows were so refreshing, and the vintage wooden tables and chairs had a reclaimed-wood feel. The forest view of Dowon Children's Park from the windows, framed entirely in green, made me feel like I had stepped into a rural European village.

Warm chocolate pistachio croissants

We ordered three pastries for two people: a Nutella chocolate pastry, a chocolate pistachio croissant, and the Best! castella croissant. Pastries were in the ₩5,000–₩6,000 range. As you would expect from a place specializing in pies and pastries, the baked goods looked beautiful and refined, and they were generously sized too haha. I also loved that the pastries were served warm.

Pretty artwork, murals, objects and yellow glass lamps 🤎 Point your camera anywhere and you get that Pinterest mood ㅠ It feels like the kind of aesthetic spot that would pop up first in a Sangin-dong brunch café Reel.

A pet-friendly outdoor terrace

When I went out through the back door, there was a tiny, cute garden. It said pets were allowed, which felt just right for the space. Pets are permitted at the outdoor terrace seats. It was like the yard of a charming little house, and it would be lovely for catching a cool spring or autumn breeze. With string lights and metal tables, it was a different kind of photo spot from the café interior 💚 I think it would be pretty in the evening too.

A place that is pretty, delicious and great for atmospheric photos too. If you are looking for a new café in Daegu or a brunch café in Sangin-dong, I recommend Otter Rabbit House 🙂
