Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch is such a famous Bangi-dong restaurant that there's usually a wait! Weekday or weekend doesn't matter — you need to get there around 6pm to have any chance of sitting down right away, and by 6:30pm it's already full~ The place isn't huge so I always try to go a bit early, but this time I went around 7:30pm on a weekday and ended up waiting 30 minutes ㅠ.ㅠ But for delicious beef gopchang, I can wait.........

I ordered two servings of hanwoo gopchang, and the pre-cooked intestines came out on a tray! Another great thing about Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang is that the staff grill it for you haha. They set a timer and come by regularly to flip the gopchang and tell you exactly when it's ready to eat — no need to grill it yourself, which is super convenient😆 They cut it into perfect bite-size pieces and let you know the best moment to eat it, so all you have to do is enjoy~~

Side dishes: three kinds of kimchi and a bowl of sauce each

Even the side dishes at this Bangi-dong favorite are amazing haha. The owner's mother makes a clean gat kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi) herself, plus generous portions of chonggak kimchi (radish kimchi) and scallion kimchi, all refillable! And the dipping sauce for the gopchang comes out in its own full bowl too, so you never run short — so convenient👍 I'm the type who dunks the gopchang heavily in sauce, so a place that gives you plenty upfront instead of stingy little portions is exactly my style haha.

How the fat-packed gopchang tasted

Looking at the perfectly cooked gopchang, it was clearly packed full of fat inside haha. I've genuinely never had a disappointing, thin piece here — it's always rich and savory, so this is a place I trust completely! Dip it deep in the sauce and take a bite and it's honestly so good I could pass out🤤

Pairing it with the grilled scallion kimchi or chives they cook alongside makes the texture even better and the flavor much richer — it's the best! The sauce has a kick of cheongyang chili that cuts right through what could otherwise be a greasy taste, keeping the balance perfect haha. At Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi branch, they even give you soft, silky steamed egg custard as a free side! And once you finish it, they'll refill it too — this place really doesn't hold back, in true Bangi-dong style haha. After your mouth gets fired up from the intense flavors of the gopchang and grilled kimchi, the mild egg custard cools things right down so you can keep eating endlessly😆

Anchovy noodles for 6,000 won on a cold night

Since it was cold out, I also ordered the anchovy noodles, and they were wonderfully warm and savory — a real treat haha. It seems simple but it's an addictive dish you keep going back to, and it surprisingly pairs really well with the gopchang! I noticed a lot of people ordering it just to sip the broth as a side with drinks too😊
