In short
Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch is a Korean beef and pork BBQ restaurant standing right in front of Gyeongui Line Forest Park in Mapo, Seoul. Honestly the hardest part of going out for meat is deciding — beef today, or pork belly?

No more agonizing though — you can have both beef and pork here, and the quality was great too. Let me introduce Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch (고기꾼김춘배 숲길직영점).
Where is Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch, and what are the hours?

Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch is at 31-2 Seogang-ro 13-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, right in front of the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, so the view from inside is fresh and it's a great spot for a pre- or post-meal stroll with a date.
And it's corkage-free on top of that! Hours are daily 12:00–23:00, last order at 22:00.

The meat quality was really good, and there are power outlets in the restaurant too, so you can charge your phone while you eat!

The restaurant is huge, and you can also eat at the outdoor tables — though for walkway safety reasons, food ordered outside is grilled inside and brought out to you.
What's on the menu at Gogikkun Gimchunbae, and what can you drink?

At Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch you can order the Korean beef (hanwoo) and Korean pork (handon) set, or just whichever meat you want on its own. The sides are varied too — beef tartare, fried rice, cold noodles — and the drinks go well beyond soju, with draft beer, gaoliang liquor, Hwayo, and highballs also on offer.

If you take part in the review event you even get free pork skin or beef brisket doenjang stew! The menu here is genuinely packed with value.
Korean beef and pork set for two: beef and pork belly in one order

The side dishes were seriously generous too! We ordered the beef and pork set for two, which comes with Korean beef pork neck, short rib, and more.

They grill the vegetables alongside too, so you never get sick of it while eating!!

The thing about a set like this is, if two people order beef and pork separately, the portions add up and so does the price. And friends often have different tastes — 'I want beef but they want pork belly' — but here that whole standoff (lol) just isn't necessary.

The pork is grilled with minari (water dropwort), which is such a good combo. And since the staff grill it for you, all we had to do was eat it and enjoy!

My friend originally didn't want to come, saying places that sell both beef and pork are usually mediocre at both — but after actually eating here, she said the pork was so tender and that they're great at both hanwoo and pork, and ate it all up happily.
Drinking Glenfiddich 18 with free corkage at Gogikkun Gimchunbae

The meat was so good we had to get a draft beer too!!

And when the meat is this good, you naturally think of a nice drink to go with it — we brought our own whiskey through the corkage-free policy, and with meat this good, Glenfiddich 18 was a perfect match!

With corkage they even set us up with whiskey glasses and ice, so we got to properly enjoy the whiskey~
Half-and-half naengmyeon: cold buckwheat noodles two ways

If choosing between noodle types is as hard as choosing your meat, get the half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles)~~
Order the water-based version and you'll want to wrap bibim (spicy) noodles with your meat; order bibim and by the end you'll crave the cold refreshing broth... haha. Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch has a half-and-half naengmyeon that lets you enjoy both the water and bibim versions together~

We had the bibim noodles alongside the meat, and finished with the cold water noodles as a palate cleanser~
Finishing the meal with diced rice
Fried rice is the Korean dessert, isn't it! Ordering diced fried rice to finish off the meal feels like properly closing out a full meal — plenty of protein from the meat, then carbs to round it off~

There's meat mixed into the diced rice too, and those little bits of meat are genuinely the best part!!
Who should visit Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch?

- Couples who want to try both pork belly and beef in one sitting
- Anyone who wants their meat grilled for them, no hassle
- Anyone who wants to bring their own wine to enjoy with hanwoo (Korean beef)
Rather than a BBQ place where you have to pick just one thing, there's real fun in choosing freely from beef to pork to a full meal here based on your mood. If you're looking for a Hongdae BBQ spot where you can have pork belly and beef together, I'd recommend Gogikkun Gimchunbae~
