Why Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch for a late lunch after Springvale CC?
My husband and I finished a round at Springvale CC in Chuncheon and headed to Jeongseong Katsu in Hyoja-dong for a late lunch 😊
Golf really burns through your energy, so I always end up hungrier than usual afterward. This time, once we wrapped up, I was craving something hearty and satisfying — and crispy pork cutlet immediately came to mind!

Inside Jeongseong Katsu: atmosphere and seating
The inside turned out to be bigger and cleaner than I expected. It had a warm, cozy wood-tone atmosphere overall, and the tables were spaced out enough that eating felt relaxed rather than cramped. There were seats for 2 or 4, plus larger tables for bigger groups, so it looked like a solid option for a family meal out or dinner with friends 😊

Menu at Jeongseong Katsu and what the couple ordered
A look at the full menu...

It wasn't just pork cutlet either — there was a good range of katsu dishes plus pasta, udon, and cold soba (naengmomil) to choose from. It seemed like a good spot for a group where everyone can pick something to their own taste.
We ordered the loin cutlet set for ₩12,900 and the spicy pork cutlet set for ₩13,900.

The open kitchen looked busy but well kept ^^

Both cutlet sets came out together, neatly plated ^^

Loin katsu set, 12,900 won
The loin cutlet set looked golden-brown and crispy right off the bat. It came pre-cut into bite-sized pieces along with rice, soup, salad, and sides — a really complete meal.

One bite in, the outside was crispy and the meat inside was juicy — great texture.
Pork cutlet can get greasy fast if the breading is too thick or oily, but this loin cutlet had a nice balance between meat and coating, so I enjoyed it all the way through. The meat itself was thick with a satisfying bite, perfect for filling a stomach hungry after golf.

Spicy donkatsu set, 13,900 won: how spicy is the cheongyang chili?
The dish that really stood out that day was the spicy pork cutlet set 🌶️

The plate looked striking the moment it landed. A crispy fried pork cutlet was piled with a bold red spicy sauce, then topped generously with cheongyang chili peppers. Even in photos it looked spicy, and eating it, it really was spicier than expected.

Eating it together with the cheongyang chili brings on a sharp, tingling heat that's weirdly addictive. It's not just a plain spicy sauce — it works with the savory, crispy cutlet in a way that keeps you reaching for more.
My husband took one bite and threw his hands up, saying it was too spicy for him!

When it gets too spicy, a bite of the cabbage salad cleans it right up ~~

Is the spicy donkatsu set at Jeongseong Katsu worth it?
It felt like all the fatigue and stress from the round of golf just melted away with the heat haha. If you like spicy food, the spicy pork cutlet is worth trying at least once. With all that cheongyang chili piled on, your mouth goes numb but you still keep reaching for the next bite ^^
Between enjoying a round of golf with my husband and finishing it off with great pork cutlet, it felt like a solid way to end the day 😊 Next time I'm in Chuncheon, I'd like to try some of the other katsu dishes too. If you're into spicy food, I'd personally recommend the spicy pork cutlet loaded with cheongyang chili 🌶️
