What kind of restaurant is Extra Mile in Gwangalli?
Extra Mile is a new pasta and pizza restaurant in Gwangalli, at 11 Suyeong-ro 554beon-gagil, 1st floor, Suyeong-gu, Busan. We were craving Western food one weekend and went — turns out it's the third location from the team behind Free Will and Pickles. My partner and I love both of those places. It's hard to make great pizza and pasta at the same time, but they pull it off 🥹
Hours are 11:00–21:00 (last order 20:00), and there's no parking, so you'll need a paid lot (Boseong Private Parking Lot is closest).

The entrance to Gwangalli's Extra Mile was gorgeous from the get-go. There are also plenty of hot cafés nearby, so it's great to stop by before or after your meal.
How long is the evening wait, and how the Tabling app works
Extra Mile has quite a wait in the evenings. You can use the table-booking app to queue.

The interior was clean with light-toned wood, and in the evening every seat except the bar was full. What a hit!! Tables are set up for 2–4 people, and staff push them together for larger groups.

I thought the place would be small, but it was actually quite spacious, with plenty of tables and no cramped feeling.
A café-like interior that works for celebrations
The counter was so stylish. The whole interior felt like a café, which made it seem perfect for celebrating my partner's birthday too.

The plants placed throughout and the wood interior plus white tones went together beautifully — really nice atmosphere. I think it might be the prettiest restaurant in Gwangalli.

That private nook of a seating area looked great too. I'd like to sit there next time.

It's an open kitchen, so you can watch the cooking happen, and the kitchen was spotlessly clean.

Self-serve pickles and water, colored pencils at every table
At Extra Mile, pickles and water are self-serve. It was nice not having to feel awkward about grabbing more pickles, haha.

There are colored pencils and a coloring picture at every table, given so you won't get bored while waiting for the food. We colored away happily, and our order arrived right on cue 🩵

What comes with the Classic Combo set for two
Extra Mile is a pizza/pasta specialist, so the menu isn't huge — but you know how doing one thing well is the best approach, right?

We got the Classic Combo (for two): one pizza + one pasta.
- 🍕 The pizza was half-and-half (hot honey pepperoni & potato) with added cheese crust
- 🍝 The pasta was white ragu

Just the look of it made my mouth water — feast your eyes first 🙃

Aged dough with cheese crust added
🍕 The pizza was half-and-half (hot honey pepperoni & potato) with added cheese crust. I'm usually not a fan of the dough or the crust end, but this was genuinely chewy, soft, and delicious. It's fermented dough kneaded right at order time, so this place really nails the dough haha. Cheese crust can get tough elsewhere, but Extra Mile's was salty, nutty, and delicious 🙂

Hot honey pepperoni and truffle potato half-and-half
The hot honey pepperoni was appealingly spicy-sweet. With mascarpone and ricotta cheese, it wasn't too spicy, and the cheese-pepperoni combo is always right. My boyfriend raved about how good it was.
The potato pizza had potato in two forms — slices and shreds — so the potato flavor really came through, and the texture was great too. The truffle aroma throughout was the best part. As a certified potato addict, I'd never had a potato pizza quite like this. Most places just use wedge potatoes, but here the two different types made it varied without being dry, and the crispy shredded potato was especially my style 🤍🤍

How the white ragu pasta tastes
The white ragu pasta was the best I've had in a while. Packed with both beef and pork, you could really taste the meat, and it paired beautifully with the Reggiano cheese. The sauce was seriously thick and delicious — I ended up spooning it up on its own. I like wide noodles, and the sauce soaked in so well that it stayed rich but not greasy all the way to the last bite 🥹 The meat portion was generous too.

Fair warning: it's even better folded in half when you eat it 🤍 If you're looking for a Western restaurant in Gwangalli, Busan that delivers on both atmosphere and taste, I recommend Extra Mile.
