Gwangalli terrace brunch café with sea views: Working Holiday Minrak
In short
Working Holiday Minrak is an ocean-view brunch café on the 7th floor of the Badamaru building on Minrak-subyeon-ro in Suyeong-gu, Busan, looking out over Gwangalli Beach. From the floor-to-ceiling windows and the outdoor terrace, we watched the sunlight glitter on the water and Gwangan Bridge while eating the Big Brekkie (24,000 won) and the shrimp oil pasta (19,000 won); the croissant was crisp outside and soft inside, and the spicy oil sauce brought out the seafood's savoury depth. If you want the view and the food in one visit to Gwangalli, Working Holiday Minrak is the answer.

Inside Working Holiday Minrak: interior and seating
Working Holiday Minrak is located near the Minrak fish market town at the far end of Gwangalli Beach, so it was really easy to find. I took the elevator up to the 7th floor and stepped inside.
The moment I walked in, I was struck by a gorgeous view that made me gasp. Beyond the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, the cool blue sea and Gwangan Bridge stretched out like a painting.
Inside, the modern yet warm wood-tone interior caught my eye.
Stylish lighting and ceiling fans turned overhead, and lush green plants were placed here and there, making me feel like I'd stepped into an exotic resort. The space was spacious and the tables were well spaced apart, making it a comfortable place to eat at a leisurely pace.
It would be perfect for group gatherings, family outings, or dates. Sitting by the window in particular gives you a full view of Gwangalli's sea right in front of you, and the sunlight sparkling on the water lifted my mood before the food even arrived.
What does the Gwangalli view from the terrace look like?

Working Holiday Minrak has terrace seating in addition to indoor seats, so I went outside to check it out. With nothing blocking the view, all of Gwangalli Beach came into full view, and it felt truly refreshing, like a weight lifting off my chest.
Looking at the wide sea meeting the blue sky, it felt like the whole week's fatigue and stress just melted away with that one view. Sitting on the terrace and enjoying brunch on a cool day would be even better.

How do the Big Brekkie and shrimp oil pasta taste?
Among the many menu items, we ordered the Big Brekkie (₩24,000) and shrimp oil pasta (₩19,000), Working Holiday Minrak's signature brunch dishes. Before long, our order arrived, and I was already impressed by how generously the plates were filled. The colorful food paired perfectly with the wide-open ocean view background!

The first thing we tried, the Big Brekkie, was a hearty spread that felt like an authentic Australian breakfast transported straight over. On the big plate sat a freshly baked, sizable croissant, fluffy soft scrambled eggs, thick juicy sausage, crispy bacon, half a ripe avocado, and a fresh vegetable salad — a really substantial spread.
I cut into the croissant with a knife and took a bite. The outside shattered crisply while the inside was full of buttery flavor, moist and nutty. Topped with the soft egg and salty bacon, it created a rich, harmonious flavor that filled my mouth.

The avocado was ripened just right too, going down as smoothly as butter and adding a light, clean note. The sausage burst with rich juices the moment I bit in, filling me up satisfyingly.

Next up was the shrimp oil pasta. The noodles were piled high with arugula, surrounded generously with clams, plump shrimp, and cherry tomatoes.
I twirled the noodles onto my fork and took a bite. The oil sauce clung nicely to the noodles, and the tomato's gentle acidity along with a pleasant spiciness cut through any richness. The deep umami of the seafood was steeped thoroughly into the sauce, and it was really delicious!

The clams were well-cleaned, so there was no grit — just clean, chewy texture, and the plump shrimp and fragrant arugula elevated the pasta's flavor to something even more upscale.
