Goyang soy crab restaurant lunch: gim and roe wraps, Deodeo

In short

Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil is an all-you-can-eat soy crab restaurant on Wondang-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. On a weekday lunch stop, the 24,900 won all-you-can-eat set brought soy marinated crab, spicy marinated crab and kkotgetang (blue crab stew) along with steamed egg and instant noodles, and the best bite was gim (dried seaweed) wrapped around rice, flying fish roe and soy crab meat. Refill crabs at Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil still had big, meaty shells, so it works out as a filling, good-value spread you can keep ordering without feeling awkward.

Introduction photo of the Goyang all-you-can-eat soy crab restaurant

I was in Goyang for work and looking for somewhere to grab lunch when I found this place! As someone who loves soy crab, the word 'all-you-can-eat' already had me sold, haha. Visiting in person, the crabs turned out bigger than I expected, and you get soy marinated crab, spicy marinated crab and crab stew all at once — I get why so many people come here. Today I'm introducing a Goyang soy crab spot, Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil (더더간장게장무한리필).

Where is Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil, and are hours and parking easy?

Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil is at 357-1 Wondang-ro, 1F, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is open daily 11:00–21:20. Break time is 15:20–16:20, last order is 20:30, and there's no break time on weekends. It's closed on major holiday days, can accommodate groups, has gender-separated restrooms, and parking is available.

Wide view of the spacious parking lot in front of the restaurant

There's a wide parking lot in front of the restaurant, so it's convenient to come by car. The lot is divided into neat spaces with wooden dividers, so the parking spots were clearly marked.

Restaurant entrance with the Blue Ribbon selection sign

And the first thing that caught my eye at the entrance was a sign showing Blue Ribbon selection five years running, from 2022 to 2026! Seeing that kind of badge just raises your expectations, haha. Right inside the entrance there are gender-separated restrooms.

Inside Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil: atmosphere and seating

Walking inside Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil, the seat spacing was decent and the chairs had fairly tall backrests, giving each seat a sense of privacy almost like partitions.

You can spot traces of TV filming here and there on the walls.

Table guide showing how to eat crab pincer leg meat

Each table has a photo guide showing how to easily eat the meat from the crab's pincer legs, so even first-time visitors could figure it out without trouble.

Once seated, they set out water, wet wipes and disposable gloves, and kindly asked if we needed aprons too. It's hard to avoid getting sauce on your hands when eating crab, so having gloves ready meant I could dig in without worry, haha.

What comes with the 24,900 won all-you-can-eat soy crab set?

All-you-can-eat spread with soy crab, marinated crab and crab stew

Not long after ordering, a generous spread was laid out. Soy crab, marinated crab and crab stew came as the basics, plus steamed egg and instant noodle add-ins too!

With steamed egg, stir-fried seaweed stems, braised burdock root, diced radish kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts and other side dishes added, the table was truly full. I'd assumed an all-you-can-eat menu would just mean bare crab from the start, but the spread was more generous than expected, which was satisfying.

How big is the soy marinated crab, and how does it taste?

I started with the soy crab first. With all-you-can-eat, you'd expect the crabs to be smaller or have less meat, right? But they turned out bigger than I thought, with fairly large shells too. Best of all, the fishy taste wasn't strong, and the meat was packed in generously.

Soy crab meat squeezed onto rice

Putting on the gloves, pressing the crab legs to squeeze out the meat and piling it onto rice… the combo of salty soy crab and warm rice really does earn the nickname 'rice thief,' haha.

You also can't skip mixing the meat and roe inside the shell together with rice, then topping it with flying fish roe.

Spicy marinated crab and the clean, peppery blue crab stew

The marinated crab was a bit different from the sweet version I'd expected. Right from the first bite it was spicier than I thought! Being someone who's weak with spice, I found it a little hot, but instead of an artificially strong sweetness, it was a clean spiciness that I actually liked. Switching back and forth with the soy crab, the flavors were distinct enough that I never got tired of it and kept reaching for more.

And personally, the hidden star of the day was the crab stew. It's made with crab, radish, tofu and bean sprouts, and the broth is refreshing yet spicy-hot — after eating crab for a while, one spoonful of this really clears things up! With all-you-can-eat menus, the flavors can start to feel repetitive, but taking sips of the crab stew broth in between kept my palate feeling clean. And it even comes with instant noodles included! You definitely have to eat those at the end, haha.

Don't skip the gim, rice, flying fish roe and soy crab wrap

The basic side dishes were well-seasoned too. Picking through the stir-fried seaweed stems, braised burdock, diced radish kimchi and seasoned bean sprouts one by one, you could easily finish a bowl of rice on the sides alone. But we came here for the crab today! Can't fill up on side dishes, haha.

Gim, rice and flying fish roe combo with crab

The combo I remember most was gim (dried seaweed) + rice + flying fish roe + soy crab. Squeezing soy crab meat onto rice, wrapping it in gim, then topping it off with flying fish roe adds a salty flavor plus a pop of texture — really delicious. It's a totally different kind of fun from just eating crab plain over rice.

Can you order refills without feeling awkward?

A refilled plate of soy crab

One thing that's always a bit awkward at all-you-can-eat spots is wondering if it's okay to ask for refills multiple times. But at Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil, you can put that worry aside. Whenever we named a menu item we wanted, the staff brought it out quickly and kindly every time.

And no need to suspect that the crabs get smaller with each second or third refill — nope! The refilled crabs still had big, generous shells, so I could keep eating without worry, haha. We refilled several times and even added extra rice, ending up genuinely full. Just a note: rice isn't included in the all-you-can-eat and is charged separately.

Finishing with instant noodles in the blue crab stew

At the end, we dropped instant noodles into the leftover crab stew to finish it off.

Instant noodles cooked in the crab stew broth

I thought only the crab stew would come, but it included one serving of instant noodles too, which felt like a pretty nice touch. The noodles blended well with the refreshingly spicy-hot broth, and the crunchy bean sprouts throughout made it a perfect closing dish. Filling up on crab and then finishing with crab stew noodles really felt like a proper full meal, haha.

Is this Goyang all-you-can-eat soy crab restaurant worth it?

The all-you-can-eat crab spread after finishing the meal

If you're looking for a good soy crab restaurant in Goyang, Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil is worth a visit at least once. For ₩24,900 you get soy crab and marinated crab plus crab stew and instant noodles together, and the crab itself was bigger and meatier than expected, which was satisfying.

Above all, switching between the non-fishy soy crab, spicy marinated crab and refreshingly hot crab stew meant I never got tired of eating and kept going. The spacious parking lot and group-friendly seating are added bonuses!

When you want to eat your fill of proper soy crab!

—this is a great value choice for that kind of day. If you're looking for a hearty crab spread in Goyang, I'd recommend Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil 😊
