A few days ago I was craving meat in the evening, so I went to Daepae Maket Busan Daeyeon Branch. For anyone looking for a pork restaurant in Daeyeon-dong, I thought this would be useful, so I'm covering everything from what I ate to the vibe and the self bar in detail!
Parking and the dining room at Daepae Maket Busan Daeyeon
Daepae Maket Busan Daeyeon has a well-organized partnered parking lot that was easy to use, and you get 1 hour free parking with orders over ₩40,000.

Parking was easy since the partnered lot was well-organized, and orders over ₩40,000 get 1 hour free parking.

I visited on a weekday evening and there were so many customers. 🫢 I noticed a lot of families in particular, so this seems like a great spot for a family dinner in Daeyeon-dong. The restaurant was spacious with generous gaps between tables, so it was comfortable even for larger groups — overall a pleasant setup.

Side specials, extras and drinks
Along with the signature daepae (thin-sliced) pork belly, there's a wide range of meat dishes. The meal options were split into rice and noodle dishes, and I liked having so many choices. haha

What's in the 2,000-won self bar?
The self bar at Daepae Maket Busan Daeyeon costs ₩2,000 per person and has around 30 items. Honestly, the self bar was one of the parts I was most satisfied with!
From various side dishes and vegetable wraps to potato, bracken fern, mushrooms, rice cake, ham, and other ingredients great for grilling alongside the meat — there's a wide variety. The sauces were neatly arranged too, and the ingredients were fresh, so I liked being able to grab just a little of whatever I wanted. This would suit anyone looking for a self-bar pork restaurant in Daeyeon-dong. haha 😊
📋 Order Albam daepae pork belly (100g) x 5 ₩24,500 Albam gochujang daepae pork belly (100g) x 2 ₩10,800 Self bar with ~30 items (elementary school to adult) ₩2,000/person Pork kimchi stew ₩7,500 Rice ₩1,000

Ordering rules: 500g minimum first order and the self bar
- First order must be at least 500g
- You can mix two types (doesn't have to be 500g of just one type for the first order)
- Additional orders after the first can be as small as 200g
- The self bar fee is mandatory at ₩2,000 per person! (It's not shown as an item on the kiosk menu, so I wondered where to add it — but once you finish adding your food items and press order, the self bar cost is added automatically afterward.)

Choosing your daepae pork belly thickness
And here's something interesting! At Daepae Maket Busan Daeyeon, you can choose the daepae pork belly's thickness between regular and slightly thicker. I prefer thin slices so I went with regular. haha It was nice being able to pick the thickness based on preference. 👍🏻

I filled a plate with small portions of side dishes I wanted from the self bar. And here's another great thing — odaengtang (fish cake soup) comes standard! It had a whole plump fish cake in it and the broth was piping hot, perfect to sip while waiting for the meat.
Albam daepae pork belly, 500g on the grill

I ordered my favorite thin daepae pork belly! Just looking at the color of the meat made it look delicious. 🤤 As it started browning golden on the grill, that savory pork aroma really came through.
Grilling bracken fern, kimchi, and bean sprouts alongside it especially added a crisp, salty note to the pork's savoriness — a great combination.

Topping a bowl of fluffy rice with a freshly grilled piece of daepae pork belly — no need to say more, that's just the best! haha Wrapped in fragrant perilla leaves it was also clean and delicious. If you came for pork belly in Daeyeon-dong, you can't skip this combo lol🤍
Albam gochujang daepae pork belly, 200g

And here's a strong recommendation! I personally prefer plain meat over marinated, but the gochujang daepae at Daepae Maket Busan Daeyeon was so good it was neck and neck with the plain version! lol

The seasoning wasn't overly sweet, just moderately sweet with the savory depth unique to gochujang added in — a flavor that kept me reaching for more!
It also paired beautifully wrapped in sweet napa cabbage.
If you're looking for pork belly in Daeyeon-dong and want to try something different too, I'd definitely recommend ordering the gochujang daepae alongside. haha
Pork kimchi stew and the owner's extra service

You can't skip stew when eating meat! The pork kimchi stew was tangy-sweet with a rich broth, perfect with plain white rice. Familiar flavors are the scariest! lol A bite of meat, a spoonful of kimchi stew, and the rice just kept disappearing.

As we ate, the stew cooled a bit and I was just thinking 'it'd be nice if this got reheated' — and the owner, who kept walking around attentively checking on customers, noticed our stew had cooled and put it back on the burner to reheat it before we even said anything. 👍🏻 That kind of thoughtful service really made my day. haha
Free dessert ice cream after the meal

The finish has to be ice cream! You can't skip something sweet after meat lol. Pull the lever slightly forward and out comes the ice cream — is everyone else good at making it look pretty...?🤣
Mine's on the left, my companion's is on the right — please pretend you didn't see the shape of the one on the right..haha Just look at my nicely swirled one.. 🤍
The texture wasn't super smooth like soft-serve, more like a slightly icy vanilla ice cream. After a meal, that lighter texture actually felt just right. Finished off the meal on a sweet note!
Final verdict: who should eat at Daepae Maket Busan Daeyeon
A place where you could enjoy everything fully, from the self bar to a variety of daepae menu items, plus standard odaengtang and dessert ice cream! It seems like a solid choice especially for those looking for a pork belly spot in Daeyeon-dong for a family dinner or a group visit. Next time I go, I think I'll order the gochujang daepae pork belly again — it was that good! haha
