On nice-weather days, don't you just want to go for a drive somewhere nearby? That's exactly what I wanted this time — good bread, a drink, and a relaxed afternoon. So I headed to Baedagol Bakery House.
I found this place while looking for cafés around Goyang, and since it's a bakery café rather than a small regular café, it seemed like a great spot for a leisurely visit where you can enjoy bread and drinks together. Baedagol Bakery House is located in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, and has parking available, so it's convenient to visit by car too. Visitor info also lists free parking as a key amenity, along with outdoor seating and a terrace. We drove there that day, and not having to worry about parking was already a plus.

A large Wondang café with parking up to lot 3
How popular does a place have to be to need a third parking lot? In my opinion, this is the best large café in Wondang, Ilsan. Here's where Baedagol Bakery House is located.
The exterior might not look like much here, but in person it's huge, and the garden is genuinely pretty!! Personally, it really is spacious — this counts as a proper large café, trust me and just walk in. Honestly, just looking at this is healing.
What we ordered — two breads and two yogurt smoothies
Address-wise, Baedagol Bakery House is in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, so it's a good spot for people searching for Wondang cafés too. A lot of people searching for Goyang cafés or Ilsan cafés are also looking for a bakery café with a bit of a different vibe. Personally, I like that you're not just there for coffee — you get to pick out good bread and enjoy it alongside a drink.
When a café has a wide variety of bread on display, it's hard to pick just one, right? We debated for a while and finally settled on choco pound cake and mentaiko salt bread. For drinks, we went with something a little more special — a fresh melon yogurt smoothie and a mango yogurt smoothie.

1st floor, 2nd floor, terrace seating, and the garden view
Here's what the inside looks like — there's the 1st floor, 2nd floor, and terrace! Personally the view is just so good and gives off a healing feeling.
Don't you just want to sit here right now? Sitting and looking out at that view, I felt myself relax automatically.

As you can see, there's a huge variety of bread, which confirms this really is one of the Ilsan bakery cafés.

Choco pound cake and mentaiko salt bread — a sweet-and-savory combo
Of course, once you're at a bakery café, you have to pick the bread properly. Our first choice was the choco pound cake. Chocolate desserts are something I end up ordering pretty often at cafés, and the pound cake's dense, moist texture combined with the sweet chocolate flavor made it great alongside a drink. If you prefer bread that's a bit more filling rather than something too light, the pound cake style really works. We cut it into pieces and ate it with our drinks, and it disappeared faster than expected.
The second pick was the mentaiko salt bread. I'm a fan of salt bread in general, so I always check for it at bakery cafés, and this time I went for the mentaiko version instead of the plain one. The savory mentaiko (pollack roe) flavor paired really well with the nutty taste of classic salt bread, and I was glad we'd ordered it alongside the sweet choco pound cake. Having two very different styles of bread meant one was sweet and one was savory, so switching between them was genuinely fun. If you're visiting a bakery café with a group, I'd recommend picking breads with contrasting flavors like this to share.
Little details like this really give off a sense of expertise, don't they. And the place was genuinely packed the moment we walked in.
This is the menu board. As you can see, there's a wide variety of drinks available.

The mentaiko salt bread really had a generous amount of mentaiko in it, with great aroma and flavor. The texture was good too, and that mentaiko scent was the real kicker.
The choco pound cake was sweet, but with a refined kind of sweetness — soft, almost like cake. Honestly all I could say while eating it was that it was delicious.
Mango yogurt smoothie vs. fresh melon yogurt smoothie
The one I was personally most looking forward to was the mango yogurt smoothie. We debated between melon and mango and ended up just getting both. On a day like this, why settle for just one? The rich, sweet mango flavor combined with the tangy yogurt made it feel like drinking dessert. Especially while eating a sweet bread like the choco pound cake, having a yogurt-based drink alongside it made things feel a bit lighter in the mouth. Ordering the fresh melon yogurt smoothie and mango yogurt smoothie together let us compare the different fruit flavors, which was fun. If you prefer something sweet and refreshing over coffee, the yogurt smoothies are worth checking out.
And one of the menu items I was most looking forward to that day was the fresh melon yogurt smoothie. The name alone really caught my eye — Baedagol Bakery House's seasonal signature menu features a fresh melon latte/ade, and ordering it as a smoothie comes with an extra charge. We went with the yogurt smoothie version. I personally like drinks with fruit in them, and the sweet melon flavor combined surprisingly well with the yogurt smoothie base. Beyond the taste, it also looked a bit different from your typical café drink, so it was fun to photograph. These days, going to a café often means looking for a seasonal drink unique to that spot rather than just ordering coffee, and in that sense this is worth trying at least once. Melon lovers especially should find this one to their taste.

Wrapping up the four menu items
To sum up what we tried: choco pound cake, mentaiko salt bread, fresh melon yogurt smoothie, and mango yogurt smoothie — four items in total. At first I thought that might be too much, but each item had such a distinct flavor that it actually worked out well.
- Choco pound cake — sweet and hearty
- Mentaiko salt bread — savory and nutty
- Fresh melon yogurt smoothie — sweet, refreshing fruit flavor
- Mango yogurt smoothie — the distinct sweetness of mango comes through
They were different enough in style to be great for sharing if you're visiting with a group. Especially at a café like Baedagol Bakery House that also runs a bakery, picking a bread to go with your drink feels a lot more satisfying than just ordering a drink alone.

Parking, outdoor seating, and why it's good for a drive
Searching for Goyang cafés these days turns up everything from large bakery cafés to emotional little independent spots. Baedagol Bakery House suits people who want to spend time enjoying bread and drinks together. For those driving, free parking is a pretty big plus, and visitor info highlights the parking convenience as well. There's also outdoor seating and a terrace, so on a nice day spending time outside rather than just indoors is a good option too. So if you're searching for Ilsan cafés and thinking about driving a bit further out, Baedagol Bakery House is worth adding to the list. It actually comes up alongside keywords like Wondang café and Ilsan café in online searches, so it's a place worth searching for if you're looking for a bakery café in the area.

Who's it good to go with
My impression was that this isn't really a place for a quiet solo coffee — it feels better suited to visiting with friends, a partner, or family. Visitor reviews also show dates, group hangouts, and family visits as the main reasons people come, along with amenities like outdoor seating and free parking. With the variety of bread available, it also seems like a good spot to bring kids, since everyone can pick what they want. When a far trip feels like too much for the weekend but you still want a short drive somewhere nearby, a large bakery café like this is a solid choice. We spent that day eating bread and sipping drinks at a relaxed pace, and it ended up feeling more healing than expected.

To sum up
Baedagol Bakery House was a great bakery café to visit for a relaxed time enjoying bread and drinks together. We tried the choco pound cake, mentaiko salt bread, fresh melon yogurt smoothie, and mango yogurt smoothie, and overall the combination was satisfying. The fresh melon yogurt smoothie, which seems to be a seasonal item, had me curious just from the name, and eating it confirmed that the fruit's sweetness paired well with the yogurt's tanginess — a memorable one. For bread, we picked the choco pound cake and mentaiko salt bread, and having one sweet and one savory option made for a good back-and-forth. Above all, I liked that parking was easy and there's outdoor space, making it a great spot for a drive on a nice day.
If you're looking for a Wondang café, or a slightly bigger and more relaxed bakery café, or a place among Goyang cafés or Ilsan cafés where you can enjoy bread and drinks together, give Baedagol Bakery House a check. Next time I visit, I'd like to try some of the other bakery items I didn't get to this time.
