Seongsu Korean BBQ private room for a birthday: Marblejeong
In short
Marblejeong is a grade-1++ hanwoo (Korean beef) grill restaurant on the 2nd floor of 57 Seongsuil-ro in Seongdong, Seoul. For her husband's birthday, the writer booked a private room with a high chair for her child and ordered the 400g grade-1++ hanwoo mixed grill (159,000 won) with doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice), and a staff member grilled the brisket point, sirloin and chadolbagi to the right doneness. With high chairs and free parking, Marblejeong worked well for a celebration meal with a young child.

My husband and I decided to spend a weekend near Seoul Forest with our child for his birthday, and since it was a special occasion, I thought hard about what to eat. We ended up booking a room at Marblejeong, a Seongsu restaurant I'm so glad we found — I was really satisfied, so I'm writing this review.
The finest hanwoo (Korean beef), enjoyed in a wine-friendly, upscale atmosphere — Marblejeong.

Where is Marblejeong, and is there parking?
Marblejeong is on the 2nd floor of 57 Seongsuil-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and it's open daily from 11:00 to 24:00. Parking is available.

There's parking right beside the building, so it's great if you're driving. Free, relaxed parking in Seongsu-dong is genuinely precious haha🥹
There's no elevator, so you walk up stairs — about three flights? The walk up is decorated with pretty lights, menu photos, and even a photo spot, so it was a pleasant climb.

Booking a private room at Marblejeong with a child: high chairs available
Marblejeong lets you book a private room, and when reserving you can check in advance how many baby chairs you'll need and your headcount. The moment we walked in, my jaw dropped😦 We came here for meat, but it felt like walking into an upscale bar. High ceilings and full windows give it an open, airy feel with no stuffiness at all!
You can see cuts of beef on display as they age, plus wine and wine glasses!🍷 Marblejeong is great for friend gatherings, dates, and family occasions like anniversaries.
We had booked a room in advance, and since baby chairs are available, you can check the needed quantity and headcount ahead of time — great for families with kids to visit without worry.

Ordering is done via table-order, and the menu ranges from hanwoo (Korean beef) and hanwoo pork to sides like naengmyeon (cold noodles) and stew, plus desserts — good for any kind of gathering.

What we ordered at Marblejeong and what it cost
- Grade-1++ hanwoo mixed grill 400g ₩159,000
- Doenjang sulbap ₩8,000
- Drink ₩3,500
- Total ₩170,500

Basics like water, spoons, chopsticks, wet wipes, and tissues are already set on the table.
The side dishes and salad that come first
The salad basically comes with a candle, which adds to the atmosphere and makes it look extra fancy? The soft, chewy cheese chunks in the salad and the dressing were both delicious. There's also a seasoned lettuce/perilla wrap side dish, so you can pair whatever suits your taste with the meat.

Since it doubles as a personal sauce bowl and plate, it was easy to eat comfortably — you can portion out wasabi, salt, and other condiments as you like, and each sauce even comes with its own little spoon, which felt very hygienic.
Doenjang sulbap, 8,000 won
The doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice stew) we ordered was much bigger than expected, and the moment the stew arrived, my mouth was watering. I've had doenjang sulbap at meat restaurants many times, but this one was the best in every way — generous ingredients, flavor, and size🫶 You have to try it!

The 400g grade-1++ hanwoo mixed grill: three cuts
Marblejeong's grade-1++ hanwoo mixed grill 400g is a combination of brisket point, brisket, and sirloin. It arrives beautifully plated, so the already-great quality beef looks even more delicious🥩

My husband initially wondered if it would be too small, but with one side dish added, the amount of meat filled us up nicely — I think we'll order it this way again next time!

Marblejeong staff grill the beef at your table
A staff member carefully grilled the meat for us and even placed the first pieces on our plate.
Beef can get tough if overcooked and too rare can leave blood, which makes grilling tricky in a way, but since they grilled it to just the right doneness for us, both my husband and I could eat comfortably and just focus on enjoying it.

Meat grilling to perfection🔥

They placed the fully grilled sirloin on our plate, and the moment I dipped a piece in salt to enjoy the pure flavor of the hanwoo and took a bite!!! ✨🫢 It melted in my mouth, bursting with juice, so tender. It had the presence of saying 'I am grade-1++ hanwoo' (genuinely delicious).

It's also delicious with the provided meat sauce! And wrapped in a vegetable leaf it's clean and spicy in a nice way! My husband's review: the beef I've eaten before wasn't real beef. He kept bringing up a fairly famous meat restaurant we'd gone to for a family gathering, and now says we should have our gatherings here instead — he was completely won over, haha.

They also grilled king oyster mushrooms nicely and put them on top; dipped lightly in the meat sauce, they were hot-hot but so good — why are mushrooms and asparagus this delicious? It's the magic of Marblejeong that makes you crave sides you normally wouldn't touch.

This is the color premium beef turns when it's grilled, everyone. Even after being grilled like this, it never gets tough or loses flavor — it stays just as good as the first bite, which I found amazing.

Last cut: chadolbagi (beef brisket slices)
At the end, they grilled the brisket point (chadolbagi), carefully spreading out each piece one by one.

Not all chadolbagi is the same. This wasn't just thin sliced meat — it was beef where you could really enjoy the texture and flavor of proper chadolbagi.

We also tried the chadolbagi with myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves) and pickled radish. However you eat it, it's delicious — the idea that beef gets tiring or you get sick of it? Not at all here.
We also kept enjoying the doenjang sulbap in between — rice soaked in broth with plenty of vegetables, enoki mushrooms, and tofu that all worked together in texture, like eating at a proper home-style meal restaurant. We were sweating as we ate.

Go at lunch for 20% off the mixed grill
Enjoying the finest beef at this great-atmosphere Seongsu restaurant Marblejeong, it was so delicious my mouth got tired from eating, and apparently if you visit during lunch hours, the grade-1++ hanwoo mixed grill I had is 20% off. If you can make it during lunch, you can enjoy this flavor and this level of luxury at a much better value... so jealous!!😊
