Uijeongbu Korean restaurant's hearty pork soup set: Yetnal Gyeongseong
In short
Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch is a Korean restaurant in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, serving pork soup and pork bone hangover soup. I ordered the extra-large pork soup set and pork bone hangover soup, enjoying rich broth, generous meat, pressed pork, and glutinous sundae. Verdict: a filling, well-kept spot I would happily revisit for lunch in Uijeongbu.

Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch (옛날경성순대국 녹양점) is open from 10:00 to 22:00, and there is a parking lot in front of the restaurant.

Newly opened Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch

Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch, a newly opened Uijeongbu restaurant, opened in September. I had wanted to visit, and I finally made time to come by today.

This franchise began among the longtime shops in the sundae alley of Yongin Jungang Market in 2017, and it is famous as a local favorite where people line up for sundae-guk (Korean sausage soup). I first tried its sundae-guk in Yongin and enjoyed it so much. So I was really happy to see the restaurant open in Uijeongbu too.
A spacious parking lot in front
Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk in Uijeongbu has a large parking lot right in front, so parking and eating here was easy.
Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk menu and ordering options

Here is the menu at Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk, a great sundae-guk restaurant in Uijeongbu. There is Yetnal Gyeongseong sundae-guk, spicy gukbap (rice soup), pork bone hangover soup, assorted drinking snacks, osori gamtu (pig stomach), head meat, traditional sundae, glutinous sundae, sundae and beef-intestine hot pot, and pork bone hot pot.

What is especially great about Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk is that you can order to suit your preferences. For the gukbap menu, there are sundae-guk, pork gukbap (pork rice soup), versions without sundae, offal, or head meat, plus sundae-only and offal-only options. For reference, upgrading to an extra-large size costs an additional ₩2,000, while changing it to spicy costs ₩1,000.
A clean, spacious dining room

This is the interior of Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch. There were so many people that I could not photograph it properly. The restaurant was extremely clean and very well maintained.

The tables were generously spaced, and the restaurant itself was so large that it felt comfortable to eat here. That was what I liked most.
Side dishes with freshly ground sesame and a self-service bar
At the table were seasoning paste, sesame seeds, salted shrimp, and more. You can grind the sesame seeds yourself. Apparently, adding them to the sundae-guk makes it even nuttier.

The basic side dishes and the neatly arranged items at the self-service bar were great. The sundae-guk was good, of course, but the clean, tasty side dishes made this Uijeongbu sundae-guk restaurant even more satisfying. The self-service bar had diced radish kimchi, cucumber peppers, Cheongyang peppers, napa cabbage kimchi, green onion, ssamjang (seasoned dipping paste), chives, and onion.
Extra-large pork soup set and pork bone hangover soup

I ordered the pork gukbap set and pork bone hangover soup. I chose the extra-large size for the pork gukbap, by the way.
Extra-large pork soup with rich broth
The pork gukbap arrived freshly bubbling away. The broth was truly rich, and I loved the subtle pork aroma that spread through my mouth with the first spoonful.

Since I ordered the extra-large size, it came with a really generous amount of head meat and lean pork, which I loved even more.

The meat was cut in large pieces, so it had a lovely chew, while the fatty parts melted away softly. I ate this pork gukbap without even realizing how quickly I was going through it.

With the delicious side dishes alongside it, I enjoyed it even more. I officially approve of this as a great gukbap spot in Uijeongbu!!

And these are the pressed pork and glutinous sundae that came with the set. The pork gukbap alone was already incredibly generous, but with these too, I left truly full.

Having a little bit of everything made the meal feel even more abundant, which put me in a good mood. The pressed pork and glutinous sundae were both so delicious too.
Pork bone hangover soup with meat that slips right off

I also ordered Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk's pork bone hangover soup. There is no set version for this one, so I ordered it as an individual dish.

It came with large bones, and perhaps because they had been simmered for a long time, the meat pulled away so softly and pleasantly. It was moist, tender, and really delicious.

With wilted greens and perilla leaves in it, the broth was even more refreshing and spicy. It had that addictive quality that kept me going back for more.
Finishing with candy and coffee

These are the desserts prepared by the exit. Candy, snacks, and coffee made for a nice finish.
A place I want to return to for lunch in Uijeongbu

I finally visited the newly opened Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch in Uijeongbu. The broth was truly rich, the portions were amazingly generous, and the large pieces of moist, tender meat were so delicious that I was very satisfied. The interior was really clean and parking was easy too, so I think I will come back often for gukbap.
