Window-seat wine bar for a date in Haebangchon: Villa de Blue
In short
Villa de Blue Haebangchon is an Italian restaurant and wine bar on a hillside street in Haebangchon, a 9-minute walk from Noksapyeong Station in Yongsan, Seoul. On a weekday evening, with the floor-to-ceiling windows thrown wide open, the writer ate aligot cheese lasagna, Sicilian puttanesca pasta, and a house ricotta salad, and was struck by the chef personally pouring the cheese tableside. It's the kind of blind-date or date-night spot that draws you in for the vibe, then wins you over completely with the food.

I finally visited 'Villa de Blue,' the Italian restaurant & wine bar that might have the best vibe in Haebangchon — and honestly the best food too. The atmosphere was so good I didn't expect much from the food, and then I was genuinely shocked 🥹 Let me walk you through hours, menu, and parking at this blind-date and date-night favorite.

What's the atmosphere like, inside and out?

This was a weekday evening visit. Let's get into it.
Villa de Blue sits on a hillside street in Haebangchon, and the exterior looks like a scene straight out of a European film.

The season was just right, so they had the floor-to-ceiling windows thrown wide open. That alone gave the place an incredible atmosphere.

Here's the interior seating. Two-person tables are set further inside, with window seats and bar seats up front.

It's on the smaller side, and I loved that about it. Not a crowded, noisy place — it felt more like a fine-dining restaurant.

It has a Mediterranean feel, and true to its name, the blue interior suits the space beautifully haha. I felt like this was a guaranteed-win blind-date atmosphere 💙

Villa de Blue Haebangchon is both a Western-food gem and a wine bar. There's a wide range on the food menu, from cheese-waterfall lasagna to pasta, steak, and sides. The steak is also very reasonably priced at ₩16,000 per 100g. Being a wine bar, there's a solid wine lineup too — not just glasses but half bottles as well. Bottles come in a wide range of price points to pick from haha. Given that cocktails are on the signature menu, they must be seriously good too haha.
What I ate: lasagna, pasta, and ricotta salad

What I ordered
- Aligot cheese lasagna ₩22,000
- Sicilian puttanesca pasta ₩19,000
- House ricotta salad ₩12,000

Aligot cheese lasagna
Ta-da, here's the lasagna first. A cheese-waterfall lasagna with aligot cheese cascading over it! Looks incredibly good, right.

Underneath the cheese bomb are layers of meat and lasagna, and the portion is huge.

I was really struck by the chef personally coming out to pour the cheese over it haha. The visual alone is insane, right? haha. And of course the taste was amazing too.
I actually prefer Korean food, but even I found the fresh cheese and tomato lasagna flavor absolutely delicious. Cheese lovers especially need to go here!

Sicilian puttanesca pasta
This is the puttanesca pasta — an anchovy oil pasta! The umami and the aroma of the oil are amazing.
I went because a friend said it was good and didn't expect much from the food at all, but everything was genuinely, genuinely delicious ㅠㅠ The pasta was perfectly savory and salty, and twirling the noodles with the olives in that fragrant oil was heaven! I highly recommend both the lasagna and the oil pasta.
House ricotta salad
Ugh, but making even the salad delicious feels unfair ㅜㅜ The vegetables were fresh, and above all the cheese tasted really fresh too.
I normally don't like or eat salad because it tastes like plain leaves. But at Villa de Blue, the vegetables, nuts, tomatoes, fresh cheese, and just the right dressing came together so well that I ate a ton of it! The kind of flavor that keeps you reaching for another forkful! This ricotta salad was so good that I can confidently recommend all three dishes haha! The food here is so outrageously good that I really hope you go and try it yourself 🥹 It's a place that words genuinely can't do justice!!
Review event

They give you a dessert if you write a review, so make sure to grab that! Villa de Blue is perfect for setting the mood for an anniversary or special day with a partner, works great for a blind date, and is also a lovely spot to just go for a glass of wine haha. I went in thinking the vibe was incredible while taking photos, and ended up even more shocked by the food haha. I actually started wondering, is all Italian food this good? lol. There are places that make you drool just writing about them again, and Villa de Blue is exactly that! Atmosphere, food, and wine — a perfect three-for-three haha. I never say something tastes good when it doesn't lol. Please go and try the food at Villa de Blue!!!!!!
