Finished wedding snap hair and makeup look in Yongsan

In late August 2026, while looking for a makeup studio in Yongsan, I got couple hair and makeup for our wedding snap at Cheongdam Shop Sinyongsan Branch.

The schedule covered a studio shoot and an outdoor Han River snap in one day, and there were no hair touch-ups planned — meaning we had to shoot everything, from studio to outdoors, in the one style completed at the start.

The wedding snap couple package was 330,000 won, and with the 44,000 won early charge for my booking, the total came to 374,000 won.

The early charge applies before 10am, and the final price can vary depending on your booking conditions, so it's worth double-checking before you go.

*Most shops generally have some form of early charge.

We went straight from the studio shoot to the outdoor Han River shoot on the same day, but there was no touch-up artist to change our hair in between, ugh.

The single bridal style finished with no hair touch-ups

In other words, the one style we finished at the start had to work for indoor lighting, outdoor backgrounds, and front, side, and back shots alike.

Why we prepped in Sinyongsan instead of a Cheongdam-dong salon

I compared salons in Cheongdam-dong too, but cutting down on travel time on the shoot day mattered more. If your schedule includes a Han River snap around Dongjak Bridge or the Yongsan area, prepping and heading out from Sinyongsan keeps your route much simpler. Especially in the peak of summer, the makeup also holds up a bit better this way...

Instead of doing multiple hair touch-ups, it mattered more to us to get the volume, baby hairs, and shooting angles all considered from the very start.

How much does it cost? Couple package 330,000 won plus a 44,000 won early charge

The wedding snap couple hair and makeup price at Cheongdam Shop Sinyongsan Branch was 330,000 won.

My booking had an additional 44,000 won early charge on top, bringing the total to 374,000 won.

For reference, actual real Cheongdam-dong salons apparently cost twice as much, ugh.

If your shoot starts early, don't just look at the base package price — ask about the time window and amount for the early charge too! Confirming the consultation details and final price in advance makes it much easier to plan your schedule and budget for the day.

One stylist for hair, one artist for makeup

When I visited, a hair artist and a makeup artist handled things separately. The shop was small, and it felt easy to speak directly with each artist about requests for hairstyle and skin finish.

Bride's hair: backcombed volume and baby hairs

For the bride's hair, we discussed together how much volume to build at the crown and back, and how to style the baby hairs around the face.

Since we had to shoot all day with no hair touch-ups, it was important that not just the front, but the side and back views too, looked natural.

I also asked why my hair ends up sticking out in weird directions whenever I try backcombing at home, and was told that you can't just comb it — you need to lift the roots with a blow-dryer first for the volume to sit naturally. Turns out I wasn't just being hopeless doing backcombing alone at home, haha. During the consultation I also heard that summer sweat or oil can make root volume droop. Since there were no touch-ups scheduled, getting the initial hold and overall balance right mattered even more!

Groom's hair: a reference photo for a half-slicked style

For the groom, we showed a photo of a style that had looked good on him before and asked for a half-slicked look with part of the forehead showing. Showing a reference photo of the look we wanted made it much easier to communicate than trying to explain it in words alone.

Dry skin base and how it held up for the Han River outdoor shoot

My main concerns were keeping the base from lifting on my dry skin and covering yellow blemishes, and since it was a late-August Han River shoot, I was also worried about how well it would hold up in the heat. Before the makeup started, I mentioned that my skin is dry and prone to lifting, so I asked them to keep it hydrating while also considering the outdoor shoot. For the skincare step, they used Remue products — something I hadn't seen at other shops I'd visited before — and my skin genuinely felt hydrated from the prep stage that day.

Hydrating bridal base makeup suited for dry skin

The makeup artist explained why bridal makeup for photos is done brighter than usual — because a white dress can make any yellow undertone in the skin more noticeable.

To avoid the face looking pale on its own, areas close to the face like the neck are matched in tone, while the arms are kept lighter since they might rub off onto the groom's tuxedo or outfit.

As you can see in the photos, they balanced the face and neck tone while also considering the risk of the base transferring onto clothing. Once it was finished, we checked the skin finish and color together under the lighting. They asked if I wanted to adjust the color a bit more, but I liked it as it was, so I headed straight to the shoot!

Changing into a self-wedding dress without a helper

We didn't have a separate dress helper on the shoot day. In my case, the director herself helped me change into my dress, which took a lot of pressure off having to do it alone. I had only expected hair and makeup before heading straight out, so having help with changing too was something I hadn't anticipated! Since it was a self-wed dress that wasn't easy to put on alone, I was really grateful, director, haha. Of course, if you're bringing your own self-wed dress or shooting without a helper, it's more convenient to ask about the changing space and whether help is available when you book.

Directions from Sinyongsan Station and where to park

Cheongdam Shop Sinyongsan Branch is at 133, 1F, Mall C, Yongsan Central Park Harrington Square, 17 Seobinggo-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

It's only 442m from Sinyongsan Station Exit 2, so it's close, but the commercial complex is large, so the entrance may not be obvious on your first visit.

  • Subway: From Sinyongsan Station Exit 2, head toward the red sculpture, pass Starbucks, and go through the path between the buildings past Kkanbu Chicken.
  • Driving/parking: Head to the Yongsan Central Park Harrington Square Commercial Building 3 parking lot, then after parking, exit to the 1st floor outdoors and head toward Building 103.
  • Taxi: It's best to get dropped off at Gate 2.

The path from inside the complex to the shop can be a little confusing at first, so it's better to leave with some buffer time rather than aiming to arrive exactly on time.

Which couples will find Cheongdam Shop Sinyongsan Branch worth booking?

If you're looking for hair and makeup recommendations in Yongsan and want to combine a studio shoot with a Han River snap around Dongjak Bridge or the Yongsan area in one day, want both bride and groom hair and makeup done at one place, or need to shoot in a single style with no hair touch-ups, come on over to Cheongdam Shop.

Having separate hair and makeup artists, a hydrating base prepped for dry skin, the reference-photo consultation for the groom's half-slicked style, and getting help changing into my dress when there was no helper — I really appreciated all of it, haha.
