Haebangchon Italian restaurant for a wedding chat: Villa de Blue
In short
Villa de Blue Haebangchon is an Italian restaurant and wine bar in Yongsan, Seoul. Over a pre-wedding catch-up with a coworker, we had alligot cheese lasagna, Gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi, and a Chardonnay half-bottle in its sunny blue-and-wood space. Verdict: a lovely spot for lingering over wine and conversation.

I met up with my work unnie (older female coworker) for a good catch-up, a little pre-wedding gathering, and to swap marriage info—it had been ages~~ The weather has been so nice lately that I wanted a glass of wine somewhere with that outdoor-table kind of feel, and that’s how I found Villa de Blue Haebangchon, a Haebangchon wine bar that’s popular for pasta!

This cheese-waterfall lasagna is their total signature menu! Hahaha, the visual is incredible, right~~?

A pretty space with sunlight, blue, and wood tones

The sunlight was so pretty the moment I walked in that it instantly lifted my mood, haha. And the combination of blue and wood-tone interiors made me feel as if I’d come to an Italian holiday resort rather than Korea! Maybe it was the sunlight, but photos came out so well too, so lots of people were taking selfies haha. Such a photogenic place~!

I got my unnie’s wedding invitation that day!! It suits her so well and it’s so pretty... I never really wanted wedding snapshots, but Jeju wedding snapshots are just too gorgeous... I want to follow her into the world of married people too.

Ordering alligot cheese lasagna and cream gnocchi
For Haebangchon, the prices weren’t expensive at all—great value and very reasonable, haha. This Haebangchon wine bar also had such a wide range of drinks, from wine and Aperol Spritz to cocktails and sangria! This time, we ordered the signature alligot cheese lasagna, Gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi, and a half-bottle of today’s white wine 😋

The wine came first~! We had to choose between two whites, and we went with Chardonnay haha. So glad my unnie and I have the same taste~ At some point I started liking fuller-bodied wines, so I don’t really drink Sauvignon Blanc anymore.

The dishes we’d been waiting for came out~~~ I’m hungryyy! For the signature alligot cheese lasagna, a staff member brings over a whole pot of cheese and pours it on for you.

Cheese-waterfall lasagna blended with mashed potato
I thought it was mozzarella, but it was cheese blended with mashed potato..!! It was so nutty, creamy, and delicious. The pairing of the thick tomato sauce with that soft, nutty cheese was seriously the key... It looked beautiful and tasted amazing too, so I could totally see why it’s their signature, haha.

Just cut the lasagna, spoon it onto your plate, and eat the sauce, pasta sheets, and cheese together haha.

Crispy-chewy Gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi
The Gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi we tried next was also even better than expected! The truffle flavor was nicely balanced, and the cream sauce was thick and nutty. I loved the gnocchi, crisp outside and chewy inside, and the nuts and bacon chips added more texture too~

How it was for a pre-wedding gathering and date
As time went by, more and more people came in! I heard there’s a wait on weekends~ I definitely recommend making a reservation before you go, haha.

I’d recommend it for a Haebangchon food-date course, a pre-wedding gathering, or even a blind-date spot. The interior is pretty, the atmosphere is lovely, and it was so nice to have a glass of wine while chatting away~
