Eyebrow tattoo salon near Gangnam Station: shadow brows at Siere Brow
In short
Siere Brow is an eyebrow tattoo salon near Gangnam Station in Seocho, Seoul, offering eyebrow, lip, beauty mark and hairline work. The writer picked the shadow technique over the natural-stroke method because sparse brow areas were hard to keep tidy, and settled on a moderate density after a detailed design consultation. By day three the overall shape was already a favorite, with more natural settling expected as it heals.

Every single day I had to draw my eyebrows and match up the left and right sides, which honestly stressed me out more than it should have. This time I wanted to cut down my morning routine even a little, so I went to Siere Brow.

This was my second time getting my eyebrows done, so I compared the design and technique options more carefully than the first time before deciding.

Inside the white-toned Siere Brow studio

Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean and organized everything felt thanks to the all-white tones. The space felt calm rather than overdecorated, which helped me relax a bit even though it was my first visit.

The treatment area in the back was just as tidy, with the bed and supplies all neatly arranged. Looking around, I got the impression that the space was really well maintained.

On one side, several certificates and records of the director's training were displayed, which naturally caught my eye. I was a little nervous being a first-time visitor, but seeing this in person put me more at ease.

Siere Brow doesn't just do eyebrows — lips, beauty marks, hairline work are all available too.

There's a color chart on one side of the shop, which looked like it would make picking a shade really easy.
How does the brow technique consultation work?

The director consulted with me about all sorts of things — my lifestyle, my face shape, and so on. First, let's look at what eyebrow techniques are available.

I originally thought the shadow technique would be the darkest and most noticeable, but the director explained that with each technique, you can choose the density through consultation.
My brow arch is high and I barely have any hair toward the tail end. So I chose the shadow technique, which is easier to maintain and fills in the sparse parts, and went with "moderate" density haha. Since "moderate" is apparently the hardest level to define, I just left it up to the director.
Why shadow brows instead of the natural-stroke technique?
I'd had the natural-stroke technique done once before.
But maintaining it turned out to be really difficult. Since it's a technique that draws individual strands, once my eyebrows grew back in, I genuinely couldn't tell my own hairs apart from the lines the artist had drawn haha. So this time I went with the shadow technique, which is easier to maintain, and chose "moderate" density haha. Since "moderate" is apparently the hardest level to define, I just left it up to the director.
The detailed brow design process at Siere Brow
What I especially appreciated was the design process. Instead of roughly sketching a shape and just going for it, the director really carefully mapped out the design while looking at my overall facial balance and existing eyebrow shape.
Eyebrows can change your whole impression with even the tiniest difference, right? So I really appreciated that she took her time on this step. Even when I checked in the mirror, she never rushed me, so I could comfortably say what I wanted.
First impression right after the shadow brow treatment
Once the design was decided, we got started for real. What surprised me personally was how focused she stayed throughout, checking each detail one by one. It didn't feel like she was just quickly finishing a preset design — she kept checking the balance and refining details along the way.
When I first saw the finished look, I kept staring in the mirror haha. It really matched the style I usually draw my own eyebrows in, which made me genuinely happy.
How much do shadow brows hurt?
This part probably varies a lot person to person. My numbing usually doesn't last very long, so even in past sessions I've ended up going through the later parts pretty much unnumbed. This time was similar — I started feeling it a little partway through. But her touch was delicate, so it was manageable for me. In the end I just didn't say anything and got through it haha.
She told me that people like me with this kind of sensitivity are rare, but repeatedly, and I mean repeatedly!! urged me to speak up right away if I felt any pain instead of enduring it. Even if you're generally good at tolerating discomfort, I'd recommend just saying something immediately rather than pushing through. She said most people barely feel anything and end up falling asleep.
Shadow brows on day 3
As I'm writing this, it's day 3 since getting my eyebrows done. Since showing only the day-of photos wouldn't really tell you how it actually looks, I took photos indoors with zero editing to show the current state.
The director told me they'd look as dark as the first day for about 4 days. Since the shadow technique fills in with solid shading rather than strokes, it can look darker at first. She said it becomes natural after just about a week, so I'll keep sharing updates on how it settles.
Shadow brow FAQ
Which looks more natural, natural-stroke or shadow brows?
How natural it looks doesn't really depend on the technique itself. The technique is just a difference in how it's expressed — the density is something you decide together with the director after a thorough consultation.
Can first-time visitors get a design consultation?
I got a full explanation during the design process and worked out the shape and vibe I wanted together with the director. If it's your first time and you're not sure what style suits you, she'll guide you kindly.
What if it hurts during the treatment?
No. Pain tolerance varies a lot from person to person, so if you feel discomfort, it's best to just say so right away instead of enduring it.
Who shadow brows at Siere Brow suit best
If you're like me and usually fill in your eyebrows lightly, or want sparse areas to look naturally filled in, it might be worth comparing the shadow method too.

What I appreciated most was how carefully the director looked after everything from the design stage to the finishing touches. Having watched it through to day 3, I really like the overall shape now, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it settles in as more time passes :)
