Apgujeong nail salon cuticle care with pastel magnetic gel: Naeil Didi

In short

Naeil Didi is a nail salon on the 6th floor of a building a short walk from Apgujeong Rodeo Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Basic care tidied up long-neglected, overgrown nails and unkempt cuticles first, then pastel-toned magnetic gel went on in a round shape. After a color test and consultation, Naeil Didi finished the set with a soft, understated shine that made for a very satisfying visit.

First photo from a visit to Naeil Didi nail salon near Apgujeong Rodeo

My nails have been dry lately and my cuticles were a mess, so I've been looking for a place that pays as much attention to basic care as to the design itself :) This time I went to Naeil Didi near Apgujeong Rodeo Station ♡ I talked through the design I wanted and the state of my nails first, then went step by step from care to gel nails. It ended up being a really satisfying spot for someone like me who wanted clean-looking nails without anything too over the top, so let me record it here :)

The building exterior and the salon entrance

From the moment I stepped out of the elevator into the salon, the whole place felt clean and tidy ♡ The space itself wasn't cluttered — it was organized in a way that felt comfortable even on a first visit. I tend to prefer this kind of calm atmosphere over a chaotic nail salon vibe, so the first impression was great ✨

What is the atmosphere like inside Naeil Didi?

The treatment space at Naeil Didi has white interiors and a full window view, so it didn't feel stuffy at all. Once I went inside, the treatment area was neatly arranged too :) It had the kind of atmosphere where you could just sit back comfortably and get your nails done — like coming in for a quick service but ending up relaxing 🤍

Naeil Didi's color selection: half the fun is choosing

Naeil Didi has a wide range of colors ready to go, from syrup tones to daily colors to glitter. And one of the most exciting moments at any nail salon — picking the color, haha. It was easy to pick something that matched the mood I wanted ♡ For someone like me who takes forever choosing just one color, having lots of options was a real plus :)

Consultation and color testing before the gel work begins

Before starting, we went through a consultation first 🤍 I told them I wanted pastel tones for a soft, delicate feel rather than anything too flashy in color or design ♡

I described the style I wanted and we settled on the round shape and color together 🫧🤍🫧🤍 A color that looks pretty in a photo can look a bit different once it's actually on your hand, so I really appreciated that they tested a few flattering colors on me first — it made deciding so much easier 💅

Before: what my nails and cuticles looked like

Before going to Naeil Didi, it had been a while since my last nail appointment, so my nails had grown out a lot and my cuticles were pretty neglected. With everything overgrown and untidy around the nail, this time they made sure to do thorough basic care before starting on the design !! I've always felt that a nail set looks more finished when the cuticles and nail line are properly groomed, not just when the color is pretty, so I was looking forward to the care process :)

Cuticle care first, step by step

They started by grooming the cuticles and calluses around my nails. My skin around the nails tends to be sensitive so I was a little worried it might hurt, but there was no forceful pushing or irritation — they just worked through each part carefully :)

It was kind of amazing to see the area around my nails get noticeably tidier 🤍

How the pastel magnetic gel was applied

Now for the part I'd been waiting for — color time! They built up the color in thin layers, and even up close it went on evenly without any streaks :) Once the color started going on, it finally felt like I was actually getting my nails done, haha. Right down to a careful top coat 🤍

After: the finished pastel magnetic nails in a round shape

Finally done ✨ I'm so happy with it !!!! This was my first time with magnetic nails and I love it 🤍🤍🤍

Finished pastel magnetic nails in a round shape

Just like I wanted, it's soft and delicate with a little touch of glam ♡ Shaping the nails nicely also made my fingers look a bit longer !! Color matters, but I really think getting the shape right for your own nails is just as important 🤍 (the nail artist is amazing,,)

How the pastel magnetic nails look in everyday light

They catch the light beautifully too ✨ The surface was finished so smoothly that there was nothing to catch when I ran my hand over it, and it looked clean even up close.

My nails looked so pretty while I was drinking wine that I had to take another shot,,♡

Personally, I think it's not just about nails looking good from a distance — I also care a lot about whether the cuticle line and surface finish look clean up close :) That part satisfied me too 💕

Honest review of Naeil Didi, a nail salon near Apgujeong Rodeo

This time, I wanted proper care around my nails, not just a pretty design, and overall this was a 100% satisfying visit ♡ When I get my nails done, I pay attention to

  • ✔ whether the cuticles around the nails are cleanly groomed
  • ✔ whether the shape suits my hands
  • ✔ whether the color blends naturally with my hands
  • ✔ whether the final finish is smooth

These are the things I care about :) This time it came out exactly as clean and natural as I wanted, and I loved it 🤍🤍 If you're near Apgujeong Rodeo and want thorough nail care along with your gel nails, Naeil Didi could be worth checking out ♡ I'm planning to keep this set looking nice for a while :)
