Gangnam café for pumpkin sandwich cookies: Bakerist Brown

I met up with friends around Gangnam and Sinnonhyeon Station for the first time in ages, and found this place while looking for a nice, large bakery café among the bakeries near Sinnonhyeon Station. The café is spacious and has such a wide range of baked goods, so I had to introduce it right away.

A large Sinnonhyeon Station café with a terrace

Bakerist Brown, a bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station, caught my eye immediately with its atmospheric exterior. The outdoor terrace seating was also done so nicely. The weather has been getting cooler too, which made it even more inviting.

Near the entrance, there are photos of Bakerist Brown’s signature items. There were so many tempting-looking choices that I was totally drawn in.

There were quite a few people, so I worried there might not be a good seat. But Bakerist Brown is a large, three-story café with so much room that it still felt relaxed.

Looking around the breads and seasonal desserts

After grabbing a seat, we took our time looking through the bakery selection... This place is seriously amazing. Once you see all these visually striking breads, you instantly understand why Bakerist Brown keeps coming up when you search for a bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station.

I really love sogeum-ppang (Korean salt bread), and there were so many varieties here—and they all looked incredible.

Why we chose the eight-piece Gangnam Sand set

There were lots of desserts made with figs, which are in season right now. But we had eaten such a filling Chinese lunch that bread felt a bit too heavy, so we wondered what light dessert to order—and that is how we found Gangnam Sand.

There was an eight-piece Gangnam Sand set, so we ordered that. I was curious because every table seemed to have ordered a few, and since there were three of us, we decided to try a variety with the set! We thought the sandwich-style cookies would be lighter than the other bakery items, and they were even tastier than expected. Everyone really liked them.

And when you order the set, it comes beautifully packed in a box, so it would be perfect as a gift too! You all know these sandwich-style treats taste even better chilled from the fridge, right?

Gangnam Sand cookies come in eight varieties, and I loved that the set lets you try every flavor. Here is a quick rundown:

My favorite was Sweet Pumpkin Jack

My personal favorite among the Gangnam Sand flavors was this Sweet Pumpkin Jack!

Sweet pumpkin is one of the ingredients that comes into season in fall, and its subtle flavor in this sandwich cookie was so delicious. It worked far better than I expected, and I absolutely loved it!

The other sandwich cookies were delicious too, with generous fillings inside. The buttery flavor was especially amazing... Bakerist Brown’s Gangnam Sand cookies were just perfect to enjoy alongside coffee.
