Seongsu café for a baby outing and fig soufflé: 5to7

I went on a Seongsu outing with a friend and my baby, then stopped by a famous soufflé spot near Seoul Forest. 5to7 is known for its soufflés and has been featured on several TV programs, including Saturday Is Good for Rice and Live Today. From the look of the fluffy soufflés to their taste, I was so pleased—and the café atmosphere was lovely too, so I already want to go back. Getting to 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch from Seoul Forest Station

5to7 Seongsu Main Branch, a great soufflé spot by Seoul Forest in Seongsu, is about a five-minute walk from Seoul Forest Station Exit 5. Since it is right in front of Seoul Forest, it is a perfect café to stop by after a walk or date in the park ☕️

5to7 is on the second floor, so you will need to go up one flight of stairs. 🚘 For parking, you will need to use the nearby Seongdong-gu Community Sports Center's paid lot.

First-floor bench seating that worked well with a baby

The moment I walked in, it had that cozy, stylish café feeling 🤎 The wood-toned décor gave the whole place a warm, snug atmosphere. There were no high chairs, but once we sat at the continuous bench-style seating, it was more comfortable than I expected to sit there with my baby.

As you would expect from a place famous for soufflés, there were so many eggs ready on one side. The open kitchen also let us watch the soufflés being made.

5to7's signature menu items are fruit soufflé, pearl cream brûlée soufflé, and matcha soufflé. There were loads of international visitors, and I noticed many of them ordering the tiramisu soufflé 🙂

Tips for the outdoor and second-floor seating

Along with the first-floor indoor seating, there are outdoor seats and indoor seats on the second floor. The café was bigger than I expected, so I think it would be a nice stop for a group of friends or a group outing in Seongsu. On a nice day, it would be lovely to sit outdoors and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere around Seoul Forest.

You need to use the stairs to reach the second-floor indoor seating, and they were steeper than I expected. If you are visiting with a baby, I think the first floor is the better choice 👶🏻

The second-floor indoor seating also had that cozy, stylish café atmosphere in abundance 🤎 Maybe because I visited on a weekday, it was not as crowded as I expected, so I could look around the café at a relaxed pace.

What the seasonal fig soufflé tasted like

I ordered the gorgeous fig soufflé and an iced Americano to drink with it ☕️ I had originally wanted to order the strawberry soufflé, but strawberries were not in season, so it was not being sold then. So I went for the figs, which were perfectly in season! The beautifully arranged figs looked so delicious that I simply could not not take photos.

Apparently, figs are at their tastiest from August through September. It was piled high with seasonal figs, so it looked beautiful and tasted great too—I was so glad I ordered it ☺️ (A soufflé so photogenic, you cannot help taking pictures.)

The figs went so well with the fluffy soufflé, and with one bite it had such a soft texture that seemed to melt in my mouth. I could see why this place is known for soufflés 👍🏻 There were also two layers of pancake inside, so it was quite a bit larger and more filling than I expected.

5to7 is a lovely, atmospheric café and soufflé spot near Seoul Forest in Seongsu. I loved its warm wood-toned atmosphere, and above all, I was satisfied because the soufflé was delicious.
