Beef belly rice bowl and creamy mentaiko pasta at Roi Sikdang, Hanam
In short
Roi Sikdang Hanam Misa Main Branch is a Japanese restaurant tucked in a residential alley off Misagangbyeon-bukro in Hanam, Gyeonggi. Two diners with different cravings split a beef belly rice bowl and a creamy mentaiko pasta — the rice bowl's egg yolk mixed into the meat for a rich bite, while the pasta's soft cream sauce got its punch from salty mentaiko. A good pick when you're eating with someone whose tastes don't match yours.

Rice bowls and pasta together in Hanam Misa

I was searching for what to eat in Hanam and found Roi Sikdang while looking for a rice bowl place in Misa! The menu ranges from rice bowls to pasta, so it seemed like a good spot for two people with different cravings, like us. I was in the mood for a rice bowl and my friend wanted pasta — but here, both are covered haha. So we decided on it right away for lunch. Already getting excited~

Roi Sikdang Hanam Misa Main Branch is located at 75 Misagangbyeon-bukro30beon-gil, 1st floor, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's tucked into a residential alley rather than on a main road, so it was easiest to just navigate straight to the address. If you're looking for somewhere to eat around Misa, it's not as hard to get to as it might sound!
Wood tones and Japanese touches: the interior
An interior with Japanese vibes

Walking in, the wood-toned tables caught my eye first. Overall it's less flashy, more of a comfortable atmosphere for a casual meal!

Along the wall are Japanese-style posters and small props lined up — these little details were subtly cute ❤️
Water, cups, and utensils were all neatly set on the table. It felt like an easy place to eat solo or with one other person.
The two dishes we ordered
Two mains chosen without much debate

We ordered creamy mentaiko pasta and the beef belly rice bowl! Since we came looking for a rice bowl place in Misa, we had to get one haha. And while browsing the menu, the creamy mentaiko pasta caught my eye, so we added that too. They're totally different styles, which made them good for sharing.
Creamy mentaiko pasta: nutty flavor plus salty punch
Mentaiko pasta with nuttiness and a salty edge

From first glance, the cream sauce looked quite soft. Mentaiko (seasoned pollack roe) sits on top, along with cheese, vegetables, broccoli, and tomato.

It came with bread too, which made eating more fun than just pasta alone. The cream leaned soft and nutty rather than thick and heavy.

Once the mentaiko mixed in, its saltiness kept the cream from tasting flat. Breaking the roe apart little by little lets the salt blend naturally into the sauce.

There's also a cheesy note, so if you like nutty, savory dishes, this would likely suit you well. Eating the vegetables along the way also cut through the richness of the cream!
Beef belly rice bowl: start by breaking the yolk
The beef belly rice bowl I was searching for in Misa

An egg yolk sits on top of the beef belly, with green onion, garlic chips, and sesame seeds sprinkled over. It wasn't just meat piled up — vegetables were mixed in too, so the colors looked great. Looking good means it's going to taste good too, right~
The soup was a warm broth with fried tofu, nice to sip between bites of the rice bowl. When the meat's seasoning lingered in my mouth, a sip of the warm broth felt like starting fresh haha. Kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) came alongside too — crunchy and a bit spicy, pairing easily with the rice bowl.

With a beef belly rice bowl, you've got to break the yolk first!

As the yolk spreads through the meat and mixes with the seasoned beef belly, the nuttiness really kicks in. The beef belly has a faint smoky char, and the sweet-savory seasoning went well with the rice.

The garlic chips gave a crisp bite here and there — a proper textural highlight! Eating them with the green onion balances out the heaviness of the meat, so my spoon kept going back in more than I expected.
Which one should you pick?

The beef belly rice bowl is great for a hearty meal, while the creamy mentaiko pasta is softer and nuttier. I liked that even with different menu preferences, we could each pick what we wanted. The beef belly rice bowl especially, with that yolk mixed in, is the kind of dish I'll keep thinking about!
I'm curious to try other rice bowl dishes here when I'm craving one again, and there are still other menu items I didn't get to try this time, so I'd definitely come back ❤️ Next time, I'll pick something new and work through the menu one dish at a time~
