I finally made it back to my old stomping grounds near Cheongdam Station intersection haha. It's a neighborhood I used to know really well, so even after a while it felt strangely nostalgic ㅠㅠ In summer the sebum situation was insane, but now that it's turning to autumn and getting colder, it's calmed down a bit?! Still, skin condition changes by season, so I figured it was time for another round of Cheongdam skin care.

This place had a different vibe from the skin care I've had before — it was centered on acupressure hand techniques. Wow... it was seriously one of the most intense sessions I've ever had lol. It hurts, but it's also so refreshing, and while you're getting it you're wincing^^^^ but once it's over that relieved feeling ㅠㅠㅠ

Run for almost 20 years, and you can really feel the difference in know-how and skill from the head manager down to every therapist ㅇㅅㅇ So I decided I need to bring my other half back here next time >_< This place is Clermont Monde!

How to walk from Cheongdam Station to Clermont Monde

Straight from Cheongdam Station toward Cheongdam intersection, ta-da. I walked straight from the station toward the intersection. The weather was gorgeous that day, and seeing Cheongdam-dong Catholic Church again after a while made me strangely happy haha.

Walking on and turning right up an uphill alley, Clermont Monde comes right into view.

The whole house is the care shop, so it feels even cozier. The building itself doesn't look like a typical commercial building — it's built like a house.

They run the entire building as a skin care shop, which made it feel more private and cozy.

Heading up to the second floor, you reach the entrance, and with the natural atmosphere around it, I felt good energy even before stepping inside ㅇㅅㅇ

You change into indoor slippers before going in — this floor is set up as a consultation room and lobby space.

The sunlight really pours in, so this spot turned out to be a real sunlight hotspot. The view was nice too, and just sitting there for a bit put me in a good mood.

After arriving, I filled out my personal info and skin condition and checked in. I'd booked in advance, and they greeted me so warmly right when I arrived that I had a great first impression :) As expected from a place that's been running this long, the staff were sharp and kind too.

The price range I saw during my visit covered everything from face to body. Apparently a lot of people around Cheongdam get both face and body care together while prepping for their wedding — here you can get body care along with facial care, so it's perfect if you want to handle everything in one visit!!

Getting ready and inside the 2-person treatment room

After the consultation, I was led back upstairs to a changing room with a restroom, where I undressed my upper body and changed into the provided robe. I left my things in a locker and was guided once more into the treatment room.

The room I went into was one where two people can be treated together, ta-da. Cozy, right haha. Since it's a 2-person room, going solo is nice but it also seems great to come with friends, family, or as a couple!!! Especially good for coming with your parents or mom for wedding prep in Gangnam — highly recommend!

The full treatment, from deep cleansing to the modeling pack

Deep cleansing

Time to start the real treatment~~ First up was deep cleansing. This step thoroughly cleared away leftover waste and makeup on the skin. After that, the actual skin care began.

Next is the step that softens sebum. They laid damp cotton pads on my skin to gently soften the sebum. And while the sebum was softening,,,,! dun dun...

Scalp massage: how strong is it?

They gave me a scalp massage and wow.... this was seriously so painful ㅠㅠㅠ but also so refreshing ㅠㅠㅠ,,, that addictive bittersweet feeling,,,

I use a gua sha comb sometimes myself, but my scalp was so knotted up it made me wonder if I'd been neglecting it too much;;; Every time the therapist's hands touched down I let out a whimper, but once it was over, nothing felt more refreshing^^^

It was one of the strongest massages I've ever had — not just painful, but genuinely,,, felt like it was truly releasing tension, and I loved it. If you're looking for a Cheongdam-dong massage and not just skin care, I really felt you should come to Clermont Monde. Seriously!!!!

Water peeling

While I was getting the scalp massage, the sebum had softened up plenty^^ so they removed the cotton pads and used water peeling to clear it out.

Especially around the nose there was quite a lot of sebum visible ㅠㅠ (bye bye!!) I'll skip the up-close photos for everyone's sake lol. The peeling process itself was gentler than expected, and the sebum just slid out smoothly without much irritation.

Face and body hand acupressure massage

And now comes the part that impressed me most in this whole session — the face acupressure. Centered around the scalp line, they worked over the eyebrows, nose, cheekbones, jawline, and even the ears!! one by one with their hands, and it was a total revelation. I finally understood why people get contouring or acupressure treatments. My facial muscles were apparently more knotted than I realized — it felt both intense and deeply relieving ㅠㅠㅠ

The therapist's hand skill in particular was on another level. Running a place for about 20 years, you can really feel the know-how.

After the face, they applied body cream and worked continuously from the neck to shoulders, arms, collarbone, décolleté line, and even below the chest. I'd worked out earlier that day, so my body was really tight. That probably made it feel even more painful, but once it was done, so refreshing~ genuinely felt like a massage shop lol.

Especially on the arms, shoulders, collarbone and décolleté line — the therapist's grip strength was no joke ㅠㅠㅠ Among all the body-included massages I've had, this was pretty strong, but personally that style is actually my preference ㅎㅅㅎ

Getting my body worked on along with my face, not just facial care, made the overall feeling of relief so much more complete!!!!! ㅠㅠ If you're looking into Cheongdam skin care and want body care included too, I think this would really suit you — recommend it!

Custom ampoule application

Next they applied a custom ampoule. They spread the ampoule matched to my skin condition and gently let it absorb — after having my face and scalp thoroughly worked over, I was starting to feel sleepy around this point ㅎㅅㅎ Honestly the happiest moment of any treatment^^

Modeling pack

Last was the modeling pack. After fully applying the ampoule, they covered my face with a cooling modeling pack. Lying there with the pack on, my whole body felt at ease and my face felt cool — I just wanted to fall asleep right there ㅠ

How my skin looked after the treatment

Ta-da. When I checked the mirror after the treatment, what satisfied me most was how even my skin tone looked overall!!!!!! There was also a subtle glow coming through. My skin texture felt more refined too, and since the neck and décolleté area, and beyond, got worked on too, not just the face, my complexion looked noticeably better.

Clermont Monde, a Cheongdam skin care specialist, isn't just about applying products to skin — it's centered on releasing tension around the face and body like this, and I felt it's worth getting done once in a while ㅜ The acupressure care in particular was so satisfying that I felt like it'd be worth getting regularly, even if not often. It's apparently a popular place that's pretty hard to book, so next time I'd love to bring my other half along too!

They also have 2-person rooms, which is great for visiting with friends or family, or as a couple. Especially if you're getting married, since you can manage both face and body together, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for Gangnam wedding care! I'd honestly want to do my wedding care here too haha.
