Gwangalli window-seat weekday brunch café: Working Holiday Minrak
In short
Working Holiday Minrak is a brunch café with Gwangan Bridge views on the 7th floor of the Badamaru building at 29 Minraksubyeon-ro in Suyeong, Busan. A repeat visitor since the café's old Daeyeon-dong days, the writer took a full-window seat at weekday lunch and ordered the salmon Benedict for 19,000 won (1,000 won extra to swap in a croissant) and the shrimp oil pasta for 19,000 won. For brunch and a Gwangalli sea view in one sitting, Working Holiday Minrak is a confident recommendation.

Since I live in Busan, I've been to quite a lot of brunch cafés here. Today I want to recommend Working Holiday in Gwangalli, Busan — a place I've paid for and revisited myself, more than once. I can confidently recommend this one. Seriously, go!

What changed after the move from Daeyeon-dong to Gwangalli
Working Holiday brunch café used to be in Daeyeon-dong. Whenever a friend visited from out of town, I always took them there — but when it expanded and moved to Gwangalli, haha, the distance got longer and... that part's a bit of a shame. But the upside of moving to Gwangalli is you get to enjoy brunch while taking in the sweeping Gwangalli sea view.

Indoor course: Working Holiday on the 7th floor, comic café on the 8th
When I'm in Gwangalli, I often go to T&Books comic café. So if you're visiting Gwangalli or planning an indoor Busan date course, I recommend eating at Working Holiday on the 7th floor of the Badamaru building, then heading up to T&Books comic café on the 8th. This is a course recommended by an actual Busan local, so you can trust it — you won't go wrong, haha. Anyway, once you get to the 7th floor of the Badamaru building, there's a kiosk at the entrance — order there and take your buzzer inside.

The weekday lunch window seat, with Gwangan Bridge in full view
I already loved Working Holiday for making seriously good brunch, but now it's a view spot too, haha. The floor-to-ceiling window opens up a sweeping Gwangalli sea view, and it's genuinely fun to just watch. Gwangan Bridge comes fully into view. Personally, I prefer looking at the sea from above rather than going in it, don't you think?
My favorite seat! The outdoor terrace is decent too, but I like the spot right in front of the floor-to-ceiling window best — comfortable chairs, a wide table, and a full view of Gwangan Bridge. I visited on a weekday for lunch this time, and maybe I got lucky with the weather, but there was no glare from the sun either, so I could take in the Gwangalli sea view comfortably.

How many seats, and how noisy does it get?
Oh, and Working Holiday is a pretty large café. Because of that, there are really a lot of seats. Wide tables, comfy chairs — good, good! Tables are spaced apart fairly well, and the space is nicely divided with shelves, plants, furniture, and pillars. It's good for chatting privately, and it's not a loud café, so it's nice for spending time at ease.

What we ordered at Working Holiday Minrak, and what it cost
What I ordered!
- Salmon Benedict ₩19,000 — a clean, savory dish piled with generous smoked salmon. Adding ₩1,000 lets you swap to a croissant, which I did.
- Shrimp oil pasta ₩19,000 — a spicy tomato oil pasta loaded with plump shrimp and savory clams.

Salmon Benedict, 19,000 won with a croissant swap
Honestly, Working Holiday is such a solid brunch spot that you can't really go wrong with anything. But if I had to pick one recommendation, try the salmon Benedict. Worth every won — a brunch dish that earns its price.

Do yourself a favor and add ₩1,000 to swap it to a croissant. The outside is crisp while the inside stays soft, so the texture contrast is great, and it cuts cleanly with a knife. Pile the halved poached egg, thick salmon, arugula, and tomato on top of the croissant and eat it in one bite...
'This is happiness' — that thought hits you immediately.

Shrimp oil pasta, 19,000 won
This was the first time I'd tried pasta at Working Holiday brunch café, and turns out they're excellent at it too. The clams come in a reasonable amount, but they piled on the shrimp generously — hahahaha. It's mildly spicy so you don't get tired of it, and with clams, shrimp, tomato, and arugula on top, slurping it up with the noodles is really delicious.

Building it into a Gwangalli date course
Right when you're focused on delicious brunch and you glance up — there's the Gwangalli sea view. Amazing, amazing!!! If you're planning a Busan trip itinerary or working out a Gwangalli date course, here's the plan: eat at Working Holiday brunch café, hang out at T&Books comic café, then watch the drone show at night. If you want to play outside during the day, stop by the recently opened three-story Samjin Fish Cake, the Gwangalli claw machine arcade, the game arcade, or Millak the Market.

Step onto the outdoor terrace at Working Holiday, the Gwangalli brunch café gem, and the Gwangalli sea just spreads out in front of you — definitely worth a visit. The staff are kind too, and they clear tables right away once guests leave, keeping the place tidy and well managed. I recommend Working Holiday, a great-vibe Gwangalli brunch café in Busan. Seriously, go check it out.
