Where to eat brunch in Gwangalli

Looking for a place to have brunch from the morning in Gwangalli, I ended up at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch! Personally I love sleeping in on my days off, but weirdly I always end up waking up early haha ₍₍ ◝( ◉ ‸ ◉ )◟ ⁾⁾

This place opens from 8am, so it was great to visit on a day when I was up and moving early! I'd especially recommend it to anyone visiting Gwangalli looking for breakfast, or anyone wanting a light brunch before work! ☕️

The vibe at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch

The first thing that caught my eye walking in was how beautifully the sunlight filled the space 🌿

It's spread across two floors, and the overall wood-toned interior gives it a warm, calm atmosphere.

The space itself photographed so nicely that I found myself wanting to snap pictures everywhere 📷✨ It seemed like a good spot to bring a laptop and work solo, and there were also comfortable seats for groups having brunch together.

How does the French toast taste?

French toast first! The visuals alone almost feel unfair haha. Torched banana on top, plus nuts, cranberries, and blueberries scattered on colorfully — it made me happy just looking at it 🫐🍌

There were even flowers placed on top, so the plating had serious Instagram energy...🌷 Taste-wise, the sweet toast was brightened by the fruit's tartness, and the nuts added a nutty crunch — the sweet-and-savory combo worked really well!

I usually get sick of French toast quickly if it's too sweet, but eating it with the fruit made it lighter than I expected. If you like a sweet brunch, I'd especially recommend pairing it with coffee! ☕️🤍

Grilled mushroom toast: light but filling

And then the grilled mushroom toast! It comes with mushrooms, egg, and sourdough, and it felt much lighter but more filling than the French toast 🍳🍄

The sourdough's plain flavor combined with the soft egg and the nutty savoriness of the grilled mushrooms made for a solid combination. If a heavy breakfast feels like too much but you still want something filling, this one fits well :)

Placed side by side, the two dishes looked so good color-wise that I spent a while just taking photos haha 📸 Brunch is about the taste, sure, but pretty plating also has to make it onto the Instagram story ₍ᐢ..ᐢ₎♡

One more thing I personally loved! Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is dog-friendly, so if you're out for a Gwangalli outing with your pup, keep this place in mind 🐶🤍

Why the 8am opening was so useful

Overall, it was a satisfying spot for a light morning brunch. I especially liked that it's open from 8am — surprisingly useful if you're starting your day early in Gwangalli haha.

If you're visiting Gwangalli and want to start your day a bit earlier than everyone else, or you want to enjoy coffee and brunch leisurely from the morning, or you're just looking for a quiet café to work alone, this is a Gwangalli café I'd recommend! ☕️🌿

More than anything, the wood interior and the natural light made the atmosphere comfortable to sit in for a while. You know those days when you don't want to rush through a café and leave — you just want to eat brunch slowly while chatting (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

If you're like me, wondering where to go for breakfast in Gwangalli, I'd recommend Famous Benny Gwangalli. Opening early in the morning, plus being able to enjoy brunch and coffee together, made it pretty convenient :)

What I'll order next time

Personally, I think I'll pick French toast on days I'm craving something sweet, and grilled mushroom toast on days I want something light but filling! ✅ (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و ♡ If you want a relaxed morning in Gwangalli, I'd recommend having brunch at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch and then heading toward the Gwangalli beach side to browse the little shops 🌊
