Khaki-ash tone-down dye for uneven color at Juno Hair, Hongdae

After dyeing my hair for a long time, at some point it got frizzy and the color turned uneven and blotchy. I was thinking it was time to sort my hair out, and with fall approaching, I finally worked up the courage to go get a tone-down dye.

This time I visited Juno Hair Hongdae Entrance Branch, close to Exit 3 of Hongik University Station! The director who did my service was kind and had such a lovely vibe that I could relax during the consultation from the start. 😊 I came out with a calm color that suits the autumn mood. ✨

The moment I walked in, I felt an overall clean and calm atmosphere.

The lighting was soft, and with the high ceilings the salon felt even more spacious. The interior reminded me of a book café, which left an impression.

Consultation time

Once I sat down, the first thing we talked about was the dye color.

She showed me an actual color swatch board and explained each color carefully, suggesting a color while considering my current hair condition and the image I wanted.

I didn't even need to say much — she immediately understood the vibe I was going for, so I was already happy from the consultation. 😊

While the dye was being prepared, she brought me something to drink and a snack too. Coffee and delicious grain cookies made the waiting time sweeter.

The main service

So, here's my hair before the big service... looking at the photo again, it's really rough 😂 From dyeing for so long, my hair had gotten quite dry and damaged. The overall color was blotchy, and the roots had grown out black!

Before starting the dye, she carefully applied a scalp protectant first.

Next she applied the dye. I have a lot of hair, so the service tends to take a while for me, but she applied it thoroughly from start to finish.

She worked with skilled, quick hands while still checking carefully so nothing was missed, which I really appreciated.

After applying the dye well, she wrapped it and let it sit for a while. And honestly, the dye at Juno Hair really did seem different. At regular salons, my scalp sometimes stings or feels uncomfortable during dyeing, but this time my scalp felt really comfortable the whole time. There was almost none of that harsh dye smell either, so even the waiting time was comfortable.

Private shampoo room and Tria Milia care

Next, after carefully checking that the color had come out well, we moved to the shampoo room. This is another thing I loved — the shampoo room was a private single room. Instead of a shared space with other people, I got to have my shampoo privately, which felt comfortable. The shampoo itself felt really refreshing too, and even though it was brief, it felt like real relaxation. 😌

For the shampoo, she used the Tria Milia line, matched to my hair condition.

It really felt like my damaged hair was being taken care of with attention.

The khaki-ash tone-down color result

Coming out of the shampoo, I could clearly see the color had calmed down. What I wanted wasn't a super heavy dark color, but a calm tone-down with a touch of khaki and ash — and seeing the result, it was exactly the feeling I was going for!

Layered cut keeping the length, and blow-dry

After the dye was done, it was time for the cut. She kept my hair length as long as possible while cleaning up the heavy, weighed-down sections and adding a layered cut.

When I told her the style I wanted, she trimmed it naturally to match my current length and thickness.

After finishing the cut, she blow-dried my hair last. With skilled hands she shaped my hair,

and finished by carefully applying oil.

And finally, done! Compared to how it looked before the service, the difference is obvious, right? 😍 My frizzy, blotchy hair became much calmer and cleaner thanks to the toned-down color.

My hair also got shinier, so I kept catching myself looking at it every time I took a photo... haha

After the service, she even gave me Tria Milia shampoo and treatment samples to take home. 💕 Thank you to the director for such thoughtful care. 💕
