Saturday wait and mala kkanpung shrimp at Marine City Chinese, Busan

In short

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a 330-square-meter Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Adelis retail building in Haeundae, Busan, with a panoramic view of Dongbaek Island from the window seats. Four adults and two children came for a Saturday dinner and ordered BUUK jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) at 8,000 won, a double portion of beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) at 12,000 won, black vinegar pork tenderloin tangsuyuk at 28,000 won and mala-based kkanpung shrimp at 35,000 won, plus free eohyang mandu from the Naver review event. The view and the food at Bueokgan Chinese were worth it, but the tables turned over slowly and even three parties ahead meant a long wait.

Today I'm introducing a restaurant from my own neighborhood, Marine City, after a while! Today's review is Bueokgan Chinese Marine City — a restaurant with a view where you can see Dongbaek Island's ocean panoramically :) It's one of my top 3 view spots in Marine City ෆ

Entrance to Bueokgan Chinese on the 2nd floor of the Adelis commercial building

How long is the wait on a Saturday evening?

Bueokgan Chinese is on the 2nd floor of the Adelis commercial building — you can take the stairs or the elevator! But the elevator is really tiny, so a deluxe stroller either doesn't fit or barely squeezes in.

We visited on a Saturday evening, and there were 3 parties waiting — but the wait was longer than expected. I visit Bueokgan Chinese often, and the turnover rate isn't great ㅠㅠ. There weren't many parties waiting, but the kitchen was busy, so the wait took a while! I think this is something they should improve 🥹

There are waiting seats set up at the entrance too ෆ

Window sofa seats with a Dongbaek Island ocean view

Bueokgan Chinese's window seats are these sofa seats, with fancy lighting hanging from the ceiling — the prime spot where you can dine while looking at the sea ❤️

Today we couldn't open the windows due to a strong wind advisory, but when the sliding doors are fully open, the view... it's really the best 😍

Throwing in an old photo! It feels like this 🥰

Private rooms and group tables

There are two private rooms — one that can seat about 10 people for groups, and one that seats 4 people, which would be good for when you want to dine privately!

There's group seating in the hall too ෆ The interior is so pretty 😊

What we ordered and what it cost

There's a diverse menu too!

Order menu BUUK jajangmyeon (₩8,000) Beef brisket jjamppong (₩12,000) Kkanpung shrimp (₩35,000) Black vinegar tenderloin tangsuyuk (₩28,000)

We visited with 4 adults and 2 kids, so we ordered like this, and upgraded the jajangmyeon and jjamppong to double portions for an extra ₩2,000 each!

Basic table setting ✨

BUUK jajangmyeon with thick noodles

BUUK jajangmyeon (black bean noodles)

"BUUK jajangmyeon" — I always used to order ganjajang (dry black bean noodles), and yes, ganjajang really is more delicious! haha. The noodles are thicker than usual Chinese restaurants. The kids ate it up saying it was delicious 😋

Double portion of beef brisket jjamppong

Beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup)

"Beef brisket jjamppong" — it's packed with beef brisket and mogi mushrooms, which was great. The broth is about as spicy as Shin Ramyun and has a clean, refreshing taste!! Personally, I think this is the most delicious dish on the menu^^

Black vinegar tenderloin tangsuyuk served with sauce poured on top
Close-up of small tenderloin tangsuyuk

Tenderloin tangsuyuk (small) — sauce comes poured on

"Tenderloin tangsuyuk (small)" — apparently Bueokgan Chinese's tenderloin tangsuyuk can't be served with sauce on the side, it always comes poured on top ㅠ Still, it's a relief that they don't drown it in too much sauce, though I'm not sure why dipping isn't an option lol. The harmony of the crispy batter and the tender, clean-tasting pork tenderloin ෆ Both the kids and adults ate it up happily 😍

Mala-based kkanpung shrimp
Kkanpung shrimp showing plump shrimp meat

Kkanpung shrimp comes with a mala base

"Kkanpung shrimp" — the kkanpung shrimp is based on spicy mala sauce, so the kids couldn't eat it^^ An addictive mala flavor that whets your appetite ෆ The shrimp meat is plump too, and it seems perfect as a drinking snack ෆ

Complimentary eohyang mandu from the review event

Free eohyang mandu from the review event

"Eohyang mandu" — I got this by participating in the review event! It was more delicious than expected, so definitely, definitely participate in the event ෆ

I finished a relaxing and delicious Saturday meal with my in-laws ෆ Everything about the food was delicious and the view was so great — Marine City's Bueokgan Chinese Marine City ✨ If you come to Marine City, be sure to visit once, take some life shots, and heal your soul while enjoying the ocean view with Chinese food 🫶🏻💛
