Magok Mexican restaurant with sofa seating and red décor: Taqueros

My husband loves tacos so much that, while looking for a good date restaurant in Magok, we ended up visiting Taqueros. It looked perfect for a lunchtime date in Magok because it is a Mexican restaurant with an exotic atmosphere.

An Exterior and Interior That Suit a Magok Date

Taqueros' official name is Taqueros de Jalisco, which apparently means “the taco makers of Jalisco.” It was created as a place where you can enjoy Mexican food in a more relaxed setting than Jalisco, the existing Mexican fast-food brand, so I was curious about what the atmosphere would be like.

When I actually visited, the Mexican feel came through right from the exterior. The intense red color caught my eye, and the atmosphere was different from an ordinary restaurant, giving it an exotic feeling even before I stepped inside.

Inside, the red-centered interior stood out even more. There were sofa seats, making it nice to sit comfortably over a meal, and the overall atmosphere really made it feel as though we had come to Mexico.

We often go on dates in Magok, but it had been a while since we'd visited a restaurant with this kind of atmosphere, so it was nice to feel like we were traveling. It seemed like a great place not only for a family meal, but also for a couples' date or a special occasion.

How Generous Was the Signature Couple Set?

We ordered the Taqueros Signature Couple Set for two at ₩56,000, along with an Apple Mango Ade for ₩3,500. The set comes with fajitas and two tacos, and we chose a chicken taco and a fish taco.

The fajitas came generously loaded with meat, fried rice, and vegetables, so they were more than enough for the two of us. Putting the meat and vegetables on a tortilla, then adding sauce, made for a great combination, and I also liked that tortillas could be refilled if we ran short.

There was more meat than I expected, and with the fried rice too, we ended up completely full on our date. The nachos and warm cheese sauce served before the meal were delicious as well. Dipping the warm nachos into the cheese sauce was salty and savory, so I kept reaching for them even before the main meal.

We visited for lunch, but as we ate, I thought it would pair really well with a beer in the evening. The atmosphere was lovely during the day too, but I imagine it would feel different in the evening when the lights are on, so next time I'd like to return for dinner with my husband.

Taqueros especially says it prepares even its meat and salsa sauces in-house using its own recipes, and that made it feel like real care went into the food. Rather than a place for simply grabbing tacos, it offers a proper Mexican meal, from fajitas and tacos to a variety of Mexican dishes, so I was happy with it as a Magok date spot.
