Ingye-dong haejangguk restaurant open at 3pm: Jeju Eunhuine, Suwon

I went out for a late lunch at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch, well known as a haejangguk (hangover soup) spot near Suwon City Hall Station in Ingye-dong.

Late lunch at 3pm with no break time

I visited around 3pm that day. Most restaurants have a break time around then, which makes it tricky to find somewhere open for a late lunch — but Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch runs without a break time, so I could eat comfortably.

They're also open until 10:30pm, which makes it a good option for a late dinner too.

Parking at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch

Ingye-dong in Suwon has so many restaurants and bars that parking can be a worry if you drive. But Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch has parking right in front of the store plus an underground lot in the building, which made driving there easy.

For anyone looking for a haejangguk restaurant with parking in Ingye-dong, this seems like a solid choice.

Seats for 1 to 6: solo lunch or a family meal

Walking in, the inside was more spacious and pleasant than I expected. The tables had generous spacing, and there was a range of seating from tables for one all the way up to six.

Some haejangguk places feel awkward to visit alone, but Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch has separate seats for one or two people, so solo dining didn't feel like a hassle.

The spacing between tables was also fairly wide, which seemed good for family meals or a group gathering. There were baby chairs too, so it looked comfortable for dining with kids.

If you visit in the evening, ordering a hot bowl of haejangguk with a side of dombe pork seems like a great, simple way to have a drink with your meal. We ordered two bowls of haejangguk that day. You order using the kiosk set up at each table.

And here's one of the great things about Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk — when ordering, you can choose whether to include blood sausage cubes (seonji) and dadagi (chili paste). I don't really eat seonji, so I left it out and added dadagi instead. I'm the type who likes haejangguk with dadagi mixed in, eaten spicy and bold.

How deep and rich is the haejangguk broth?

After a short wait, the hot haejangguk arrived. I tried the broth first with a spoonful, and it was rich and deep — really tasty.

Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk reportedly uses bone broth simmered for 24 hours, and I could taste that depth in the soup. Inside the bowl were generous amounts of beef brisket and shank, bean sprouts, and ugeoji (dried napa cabbage leaves).

There was plenty of meat, and the bean sprouts and ugeoji gave good texture alongside the broth. Pouring the hot broth over rice made for a hearty, satisfying meal! And of course, haejangguk really needs plenty of garlic to taste right. 😆 So I loaded up on garlic!!

There was a self-serve bar set up on one side of the restaurant.

The self-serve bar had radish kimchi, dadagi, chili peppers, garlic, and rice, so you can grab any extra side dishes or accompaniments yourself.

I like loading up on garlic in my haejangguk, so I grabbed plenty. You can also add more dadagi to taste — it seems like a good idea to start light and add more as you go, based on your preference.

Free extra rice with one menu item per person

There was one more thing I really liked. When you order one menu item per person, an extra bowl of rice is free! The rice is at the self-serve bar, so you just grab more if you need it.

One bowl of rice often isn't quite enough when you're eating haejangguk, so being able to get extra for free made the meal genuinely satisfying. Rice lovers will probably be pretty happy about this. 😊

Why Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk works for a late lunch in Ingye-dong, Suwon

Even visiting around 3pm, I could eat without worrying about a break time, and the parking in front of the store and in the building's underground lot made driving there easy. Most of all, the spacious, pleasant interior with seating for anywhere from one to several people made it seem like a good fit for solo dining, family meals, and gatherings with friends alike.

The hot, rich haejangguk broth was loaded with beef brisket, shank, bean sprouts, and ugeoji, and being able to add garlic and dadagi to taste at the self-serve bar was satisfying too. Especially with the free extra rice for one menu item per person, this feels like a place I'd think of whenever I want a hearty, filling meal!
