Summer vegetable oil pasta, 18,900 won
The dish I was most looking forward to — summer vegetable oil pasta! It was piled high with arugula, fried eggplant, and various other fried vegetables, so it looked delicious even before the first bite.
The texture of eating the crispy fried vegetables together with the pasta noodles was especially great.

It wasn't just a plain, light oil pasta — there was a slightly spicy kick at the end, which was a nice touch! With the savory cheese, the fragrant arugula, and a squeeze of lemon, it had a refreshing quality too.
Even with such a generous amount of fried vegetables on top, it wasn't as heavy as I expected, so I enjoyed it deliciously all the way through. I had a feeling it might be a summer-only menu item, so I ordered it — and it was really good.

The springy, chewy texture of the pasta noodles was totally my type!
Arugula gimbap, 6,500 won: gimbap at a brunch bistro
Gimbap at a brunch place! The name alone made me curious about this arugula gimbap.

The key was the thick egg, fresh arugula, and pollock roe (myeongnan) tucked inside! The soft, savory egg, the fragrant arugula, and the salty umami of the pollock roe came together for a really well-balanced overall flavor.

The ingredients look simple, but once you taste it, each flavor blends together harmoniously — it has a different charm from regular gimbap, and it's a menu item that stuck with me :)
Soup of the day: corn soup, 6,500 won
The soup of the day happened to be corn soup.

It was warm, smooth, and creamy in texture, with the sweet, nutty flavor characteristic of corn.
Eating a spoonful of warm corn soup between bites of the slightly spicy oil pasta was a great combo. I hadn't eaten breakfast so I was starving haha — it was light and warming to eat, and a great addition to a Songjeong brunch order :)

Is Just Chilling worth it for brunch in Songjeong?
What I liked about Just Chilling is that it's not just a place with the usual, familiar brunch menu — you can find something a little different here.

From the summer vegetable oil pasta with its crispy fried vegetables and appealing hint of spice, to the well-balanced arugula gimbap with pollock roe, to the smooth, warm corn soup!

Just Chilling was a great Songjeong restaurant to visit on a day when you want to start the morning leisurely in Songjeong or enjoy a different kind of brunch in a great-vibe space :)
