Today I was in Jeonpo thinking, isn't there a BBQ place that grills the meat for you... and I found it!! Sanseong Sikyukjeom Jeonpo Direct Store, haha. So many Jeonpo BBQ spots make you grill your own meat, ugh. But here they grill everything for you, the meat quality is great, and they even have sides that go perfectly with drinks — I really wanted to share this with anyone looking for a good restaurant near Jeonpo Station.
How far is Sanseong Sikyukjeom Jeonpo Direct Store from Jeonpo Station?
Sanseong Sikyukjeom Jeonpo Direct Store is about a 250m walk from Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station! It's also about 350m from Jeonpo intersection, so anyone who frequents Jeonpo will probably recognize the location right away. It's honestly a stretch you've probably walked past before if you spend time in Jeonpo, so the accessibility was great. It also seemed like a solid choice for a Jeonpo Station group dinner where you leave the car at home and have a drink!

There's no dedicated parking lot for the restaurant. If you're visiting by car, it's probably best to call ahead and ask about nearby parking! Personally, I'd recommend just taking public transit to Jeonpo, haha.
Use Catch Table when there is a wait
There was a Catch Table kiosk near the entrance too. Looks like there can be a wait during busy hours! We had a reservation, so we got seated right away, haha.

Reserve ahead and the side dishes are already set out
Since we had a reservation, the side dishes were already laid out on the table when we arrived. This kind of thing is so nice!! You can order and start drinking the moment you sit down. When you're doing a Jeonpo Station group dinner with several people, having this ready in advance is surprisingly convenient.
What to order at Sanseong Sikyukjeom and what it costs
You order via QR code.

We went with the set of nuruk pork neck, pork belly and special cuts for ₩54,000.

And of course we couldn't skip the doenjang sul-bap (soybean paste rice with a splash of alcohol) and drinks! Coming to a BBQ place and skipping the sul-bap would feel like a waste, haha.

Clean interior with group seating
The interior was cleaner than I expected. It felt cool and comfortable, and there were seats for groups, so it looked good for gatherings or work dinners too. So if you're looking for a Jeonpo Station group dinner spot that isn't loud and chaotic but actually clean, this place should work!

Also, charcoal-obsessed Jin Kim... had to get a photo of this. Haha. Seeing the charcoal come out before the meat somehow already raises the anticipation.
Which sauce goes best with the pork?
When the meat first comes out, I'd recommend dipping it in the salt sitting right in front of you. Salt really is the cleanest way to taste the meat itself. And next to it, there was guidance on which sauce pairs with which cut.
Why the shiitake wasabi sauce is a must-try
Of all of them, the shiitake wasabi was genuinely delicious, ugh. It's wasabi, but not too sharp or salty, with a subtle shiitake aroma mixed in that went really well with the meat. I'm definitely getting this again next time, haha.
How good was the meat quality?
Just looking at the meat, you can tell it looks good. It had good thickness and grain, so it looked delicious even before it hit the grill. Anyone looking for good pork belly near Jeonpo Station probably cares most about meat quality — and on that front, I was satisfied!

Staff grill the meat for you at the table
And here's the real best part. They grill everything for you. I really hate the hassle of grilling my own meat, so I love places that do it for you. No oil splattering, no need to keep an eye on the meat while drinking, and they cut it and serve it right at the perfect moment to eat — so convenient.

The staff member grilling was so kind!!
The male staff member who grilled for us was genuinely kind. He explained things along the way, watched the doneness carefully, wasn't the overly chatty type that feels like a lot, and just took care of exactly what was needed. That made me want to come back again, haha.

Radish doenjang soup comes as a side dish
Among the side dishes, there was also a radish doenjang soup with bits of meat in it. This was so good while drinking, ugh. It had quite a bit of chili in it, so it was on the spicier side. I love that kind of broth so I enjoyed it, but my boyfriend can't handle spicy food well so he struggled a bit, haha. Something to keep in mind if you're not great with spice!
First bite: pork neck with pickled cucumber
My first bite was pork neck with pickled cucumber together. The meat itself was thick, so eating it with the pickled cucumber added a nice crunchy texture. This combo was surprisingly good.

Cooked meat gets moved to the side of the grill
Once the meat was fully cooked, they moved it to a heated spot on the side so it wouldn't go cold. This was so convenient. If you leave it on the grill, it keeps cooking and can get dry, but keeping it warm on the side meant we could enjoy it tasting great until the very end.

They grill an egg alongside the pork
After the meat was all grilled, they cooked an egg on the side for us too. Such a good side dish to go with the meat, haha. It's even better if you leave the yolk slightly runny.

Finish with doenjang sul-bap
We also had the doenjang sul-bap alongside everything, and having something like this between eating meat and drinking really is satisfying. It tasted decent, though a bit salty for my taste. Still, it actually worked well as a drinking snack!

A butcher shop running since 1982
Apparently Sanseong Sikyukjeom has been run by the owner's mother since 1982. Learning this kind of story gave me more confidence — this isn't just some recently opened trendy BBQ place, but somewhere that's been handling meat for a long time. So my expectations for the meat quality went up a bit more too, haha.
There is a happy hour event too!
They were also running a happy hour event at the time. If you visit between 4:30 and 6pm, they apparently give you kimchi jjigae and pork belly skin as a free side. The details of the event may change over time, so I'd recommend checking before your visit!
We got the free pork skin as well
Our timing worked out, so we got the pork belly skin service too! It came pre-grilled once, so it wasn't overly greasy and was easy to eat.

The pork skin sauce combination was incredible
When eating the pork belly skin, I dipped it in an egg yolk oil sauce along with soybean powder, and this combo was genuinely... insane. The chewy pork belly skin with the savory yolk plus soybean powder worked way better than expected. This was a free side and it's still stuck in my memory.

Recommended if you want pork belly near Jeonpo Station
Sanseong Sikyukjeom Jeonpo Direct Store isn't just about pork belly — you can try pork neck, special cuts, pork belly skin, and doenjang sul-bap too, which makes it better suited for a group. So if you're looking for pork belly near Jeonpo Station along with a good spot to have a drink, I'd recommend it!
How it works as a group dinner spot in Jeonpo

The interior is spacious, there's group seating, and above all, having staff grill the meat for you is such a big plus for a group dinner. The youngest of the group doesn't have to stress out over grilling, haha, and everyone can eat comfortably together — this looked like a solid choice for a Jeonpo Station group dinner too.
Sanseong Sikyukjeom Jeonpo Direct Store overall review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
In the end, I was genuinely satisfied, haha. The meat quality was good, they grilled everything for us, kept the finished meat warm on the side, and even had the nice touch of grilling the egg too. In particular, the combination of shiitake wasabi, radish doenjang soup, doenjang sul-bap, and pork belly skin as sides was perfect for drinking.
