No-wait weekday lunch pasta near Sinnonhyeon Station: Brivit Gangnam

In short

Brivit Gangnam Station is a pasta and gnocchi restaurant halfway between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Visiting on a weekday at 1:30 pm with no wait and no break time, the writer had salmon steak pasta, green onion cream corn gnocchi, Greek yogurt and tomato salad, and grapefruit ade. With sunny, bright interiors and no midday break, it's a solid pick for a blind date or an oddly-timed lunch.

Today I'm sharing an honest review of Brivit Gangnam Station, a cozy pasta spot near Sinnonhyeon Station that's great for a blind date.

Location and hours

  • Mon–Sun 11:30–21:15
  • Last order 20:30
  • Open regular hours on Chuseok day

I usually end up eating lunch around 2 pm, an awkward time, so I really appreciate that this place is open every day with no lunch break — much less restrictive timing-wise. It's roughly halfway between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station. The walk from the station wasn't too steep either, which was nice.

Interior and seating

From the entrance it's all pink and full of plants, giving off a cozy, warm feeling.

The interior gets really good sunlight and is colorful — the whole place has a cute feel overall. There are baskets under the seats, handy for storing bags. There are tables for 2 and for 4. I visited on a weekday around 1:30 pm and there was no wait.

Self-serve pickle bar and phone chargers

You can help yourself to pickles at the self-serve bar. I love pickles and sometimes want seconds, so it was nice being able to just grab more myself. There's also a water dispenser for self-serve water, which feels hygienic. Wi-Fi and phone chargers are available too — great for charging while you eat.

Menu and ordering

The mains are steak, gnocchi, and pasta, with a variety of sides like salads and fried dishes so you can order to your taste. It felt like a good place to order two dishes and split them. There are also set menus, so it's worth checking those when you order. They have highballs too for a light drink alongside your meal, but since I had plans that evening, I went with ade instead this time.

What I ordered:

  • Salmon steak pasta ₩19,900
  • Green onion cream corn gnocchi ₩18,900
  • Greek yogurt & tomato salad ₩11,900
  • Grapefruit ade ₩6,900

The grapefruit ade came out first. It's a good size for two people to share one glass. Note that if you take part in the review event, you get one free lemon or grapefruit ade — if two people participate, you get two glasses.

Plate of Greek yogurt and tomato salad

Greek yogurt & tomato salad

This is the Greek yogurt and tomato salad, a nice dish to wake up your stomach before the meal. The Greek yogurt was nutty and cheese-like, pairing well with the tomatoes. The tomatoes soaked up the basil sauce nicely, giving off a fragrant basil scent that made me feel healthier just eating it.

Tomato dipped in Greek yogurt

Dipping it deep into the Greek yogurt made it absolutely delicious.

Here's the salmon steak pasta and the green onion cream corn gnocchi! Both dishes came out almost together, which made for a great photo.

Salmon steak pasta

The salmon steak pasta is Brivit's signature dish — a clean, spicy ragu sauce topped with a salmon steak. Salmon can easily turn out greasy, but the ragu sauce balanced it out perfectly and it was so delicious. The ragu sauce itself was excellent on its own. I think I'd order it again on a repeat visit.

Salmon steak topped over ragu sauce

Both the salmon and the sauce drizzled over it were so tasty. There was grated cheese over what I think was perilla leaf, and even just the ragu sauce with the perilla leaf alone was such a great combo — I'm tearing up just thinking about it, haha.

Green onion cream corn gnocchi

This is the green onion cream corn gnocchi. The handmade gnocchi had a great texture — crispy outside and chewy inside. There was whole bacon inside too, so you get both the richness and the salty kick of the bacon. The corn was neatly trimmed for easy eating, and dipping it into the cream sauce was delicious. Everything was so good that I finished it all without leaving anything behind. It's the kind of taste that stays on your mind even after you get home!

Verdict — how about for a blind date?

The restaurant gets a lot of sunlight and the bright interior tones seem to bring positive energy, so I'd recommend it as a blind date spot!! I'd definitely go back, and next time I'll be sure to order the salmon steak pasta again, haha.
