Mango bingsu in Paju’s Simhaksan area

Hotel mango bingsu is way too expensive, and making it at home just doesn’t taste as good (..!) The place I’m introducing today is Fruit Forest (과일의숲), a Paju bingsu café famous for mango bingsu 🤗 It is one of Paju’s talked-about mango-bingsu spots, piled high with fresh mango, and it honestly felt like I’d met my lifetime-best mango bingsu.

It is in the Simhaksan dining alley near Paju Lotte Outlet, so this Paju Simhaksan café is great when you want a meal and dessert before or after shopping! Accessibility seems pretty good too.

Exterior of Fruit Forest Paju Direct Store

The exterior is larger than I expected. There is a dedicated parking lot with plenty of room for up to 20 cars, so you can visit comfortably. If it is full, they say you can park at Simhaksan Tteurak (심학산 뜨락) in the building next door.

Café space with mango bingsu information

It is famous as a Paju bingsu spot, but also a real mango-bingsu mecca—this bingsu heaped with fresh mango is seriously famous.

Café interior with floor-to-ceiling windows

Floor-to-ceiling window views and seasonal fruit in the display case

Once inside, the large floor-to-ceiling windows and refreshing view immediately caught my eye. It felt so open and nice.

Café seating with a floor-to-ceiling window view

I visited on a weekday, but people kept coming in, so yes, it really is a famous Paju bingsu spot, right?.?

Mangoes being ripened

As you would expect from a mango-bingsu favorite, there were loads of mangoes inside, ripening away 🧡 They were so cute that I simply had to take photos.

Mango display inside the café

Fruit Forest says it attends the first auction every dawn and selects only high-sugar fruit to sell. You can look at the fruit and buy it directly, and they ripen it themselves too, so you can eat with confidence.

Honeydew melon display

Cute honeydew melons..! It is famous as a Paju mango-bingsu spot, but there were lots of seasonal fruits too, including peaches, melons, and figs?.?

Display case with assorted fruit

Not just mangoes—many kinds of fruit were displayed in the showcase. When you order, they take them right out from here, cut them, and prepare them, which I really liked.

Cute mangoes..🥹 In summer, you absolutely have to eat mango bingsu ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Café bingsu and drink menu

True to its reputation as a Paju bingsu favorite, the selection was varied: injeolmi (roasted soybean powder) red-bean bingsu, fresh mango bingsu, peach bingsu, melon bingsu, fig bingsu, and even a 10-fruit assorted bingsu. They also sell coffee, mango juice, and other fruit juices besides bingsu, making this Paju Simhaksan café a nice one to visit with kids too ❤️

Fresh Mango Snowflake Bingsu (₩32,000)

Fresh mango snowflake bingsu

Fresh mango snowflake bingsu taste

Appearance of fresh mango snowflake bingsu

I was shocked by the look of it as soon as it arrived 🥹 I have eaten a lot of mango bingsu this summer, but what is this quality, seriously... A great Paju mango-bingsu spot? Yes, right here.

Bingsu topped with ripened mango

You could tell just by looking that the mangoes had been properly ripened, and the sweetness was so high that even the mango aroma was different the moment it came out! I met my lifetime mango ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Large mango and cube cheese toppings

There were three huge mangoes on top, plus cube cheese, and eating them together—what more is there to say about this combination 🤗❤️

Cross-section of mango and snowflake bingsu

Inside was snowflake bingsu that melted softly in your mouth. The texture was great and went well with the fruit. They gave us mango purée separately, but the mango itself was sweet enough that it was perfect for my taste without adding any.

Bingsu served with mango purée

One bingsu serves 2–3 people, so two people will get really full, and it seemed like just the right amount for three. It tasted great, of course, but the quality itself was so good. I cannot afford the Shilla Hotel bingsu because it is expensive, but this fully satisfies that craving! 🤗

Bingsu generously topped with mango

I loved that they took the fruit directly from the showcase and prepared it, and the mangoes were ripened so well too. It was so delicious I was thinking, “This is what mango is.” I have eaten lots of mango bingsu this summer, and I immediately 인정 this Paju bingsu spot ⭕

Thick-cut mango

A lot of mango bingsu uses thinly sliced mango, but the mangoes here were cut thick, so the sweet juice really burst through when I ate them. Personally, I liked that much better.

Mango bingsu with an ice cream topping

The topping looked like ice cream, and it was a perfect match for the sweet mango bingsu. Eaten with the milk ice inside, it had just the right amount of sweetness. And then there is the sweetness of the mango bingsu itself..🥹 It is a flavor only people who have tried it know—a true mango-bingsu mecca!!!!!!!!

Mango bingsu enjoyed at a floor-to-ceiling window seat

This Paju Simhaksan café was also a lovely place to relax, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and view. I kept saying I had met my lifetime-best bingsu; it never felt like the price was wasted while I was eating it!!!! This is Shilla Hotel, isn’t it 🥹

Finished mango bingsu

In the end, we finished it all..🤗 We had come straight after a meal and were definitely full, but it was too delicious to leave behind!!!

Fruit Forest, a famous Paju bingsu spot, is called a mango-bingsu mecca, and I understood why immediately after one bite! The owner was kind, and I could really feel the care behind selecting only high-sugar fruit at the dawn auction. This was a Paju Simhaksan café full of thoughtfulness. I am planning to return because I am curious about the fig bingsu too.
