Dog-friendly café in Pocheon with a music fountain: Geurine Oasis

In short

Geurine Oasis is a dog-friendly bakery café in Pocheon, Gyeonggi, with reservoir views and outdoor tables. I enjoyed a 9-hour traditional ssanghwa tea, Salt Schpanner, and custard honey bread while watching the music fountain show. Verdict: a peaceful stop for tea with your dog in nature.

After coming to walk around Gwangneung Arboretum, I stopped by Geurine Oasis (그리네 오아시스), a café in nearby Pocheon. This dog-friendly Pocheon café welcomes dogs, so it is loved by plenty of dog owners.

The weather was a little cloudy today, but it was pleasantly cool, which actually made it even nicer. I arrived a little late in the afternoon after lunch. Even so, lots of people were already settled in their seats. Haha.

Hours and parking

Geurine Oasis opening-hours information

On Mondays, it is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

There was plenty of parking in front of both the main building and the annex. Of course, I imagine all of it fills up on weekends.... I visited on a weekday, so parking was easy. Haha.

Outdoor tables by the reservoir and the music fountain show

There are lots of outdoor tables in the spacious area in front of the annex. Sitting at a table and looking over the calm reservoir made my own mind feel calm and peaceful too.

At a certain time, music suddenly started playing. Looking over, I saw a fountain show in the reservoir moving to the music. The music was lovely, and the fountains moved quite dynamically. It is a great thing to watch—so nice.

There seemed to be a special area for dog owners in front of the main building. It would be great to let the dogs brought here run around and play. There are quite a few tables, so it looked like a comfortable spot for a cup of tea.

You can order in the main building. A few groups were already waiting to order at the kiosk, and I waited before placing mine.

When I stepped inside, the first thing I noticed was how clean it was. Pretty teacups were displayed along one wall, creating a memorable, atmospheric touch. With framed pictures hung up too, it felt a little like a gallery.

As you would expect from a large bakery café in Pocheon, the scale is enormous. Those sitting outside can use the lap blankets provided in the main building. It was still early September, but I could feel a little chill, so I took one out to use. It feels like the season when they are essential has begun.

Outdoor seating by the annex

The annex is arranged to give a cool, open view outdoors. But with today’s pleasant autumn weather, almost everyone had chosen outdoor seats. We immediately sat down as soon as an outdoor table opened up. Timing is everything for a good seat. Haha.

Kiosk menu and dog menu

Geurine Oasis signature menu

These are the café’s signature menu items. I tried ordering the ssanghwa tea too. Haha.

Main-building kiosk ordering information

Order at the kiosk inside the main building. There was a wide range of coffees and so many non-coffee drinks too. I love lattes, so I was happy to see so many varieties. The ade drinks and teas were well covered, and there were lots of bakery items and cakes as well. The prices seemed reasonable enough.

Both the outdoor and indoor spaces were well prepared, and I was happy with the atmosphere. As I mentioned briefly earlier, having a cup of tea while looking at the reservoir was so peaceful, and that restfulness was deeply satisfying.

One unusual thing here was a separate menu for dogs. I think dog owners who love their pets would be very pleased.

So many kinds of bread and cake caught my eye. I wanted to try them all, but I had to hold back.

Salt Schpanner, ssanghwa tea, and honey bread

I ordered the Salt Schpanner Signature Decaf Iced (₩9,500), 9-hour Traditional Ssanghwa Tea (₩8,500), and Custard Honey Bread (₩7,000).

First of all, I could tell the ssanghwa tea, a traditional herbal tea, had been brewed very richly. Just one cup made me feel healthier right away. My husband, who takes good care of his health, ordered it and enjoyed it. Haha.

I ordered the Salt Schpanner. The fragrant coffee with a hint of savory saltiness was excellent. Since it is this café’s signature, I definitely recommend trying it.

An unusual point is that the drinks come in tumblers you can take home once you have finished them.... You get a tasty coffee and a pretty cup: two benefits in one.

I noticed an unusual setup in the table and found out that you can enjoy bulmeong—watching a fire—there. I did not look into it closely since it was daytime, but it seemed interesting. If you have the chance, do give it a try......

They warmed up the bread for us. Loved that.... Honey bread is, quite literally, sweet honey-flavored sandwich bread. It was crisp on the outside and moist inside. It went well with coffee, and I think children would like it too.

A café for resting among reservoir views

I had a lovely visit to this atmospheric café with a lake view that made even my mind feel at peace. I liked being able to see nature, and it made me curious about what bulmeong would be like in the evening. I liked the drinks and bread too.

There were quite a few visitors with dogs, and if you have a dog, it would be nice to bring them along. The fountain show on the lake was wonderful because it gave us something to watch and kept things from getting dull.
