Turmeric noodle pork noodles and parking tips at Handam, Jeju Aewol
In short
Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch is a pork noodle restaurant in Aewol, Jeju, right next to Landy's Donuts on the Handam coastal path. The sagol gogi guksu (beef bone broth pork noodles), dongchimi bibim guksu (radish water kimchi mixed noodles), and dombe cold pork all impressed, with turmeric-infused thin noodles instead of the usual thick noodles and perfectly seasoned bone broth — the best pork noodles this writer has had in a while. With ocean-view seats at every table and prices around ₩10,000, it's a welcome break from pricey tourist-area food.

Right on Handam coastal trail, one of Jeju's must-see spots on the west side, #Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch is a pork noodle restaurant locals recommend in Aewol for its good value and food made with real care.

Next to Landy's Donuts on Handam trail — how's the parking?
It's right next to Landy's Donuts on Handam coastal path, so it's easy to find.

There are 3 parking spots right in front of the restaurant.
If those are full, you can use the Handam public parking lot (Landy's parking) or Handam trail parking right next door — they'll cover 1 hour free.
Ocean view at every seat
The restaurant is spacious and clean, and the staff greeted us so warmly that it felt good from the moment we walked in.

Every seat has an ocean view, with a pretty look at Aewol's sea and Biyangdo Island — a real find for pork noodles in Aewol.

Menu and self-service bar
With sagol gogi guksu, dongchimi bibim guksu, mala gogi guksu, and lean pork rice soup all on the menu, there's plenty of variety for a family trip. The house-made pork tteokgalbi (patty-style short rib), made daily with Jeju pork, is a popular side dish full of flavor and softness.

The side dishes are neatly set up at the self-service bar.

The kimchi made in-house is also delicious.

They have baby chairs and baby tableware, so a lot of families with kids come here.

They use domestic beef bones, Jeju pork, and Korean-grown rice and vegetables across the board.
Leave a photo review on Naver and get a Jeju specialty crunch snack as a gift.

The three we ordered on our first visit
Since it's noodles, the food came out fast, which was nice. As it was our first visit to Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch, we ordered the signature sagol gogi guksu, dongchimi bibim guksu, and cold pork. I'm curious about the mala noodles and the lean pork rice soup too, so I think I'll have to come back.

In pricey Jeju, and in the hot tourist spot of Handam no less, this is ten-thousand-won happiness.
Dongchimi Bibim Guksu (₩10,000)
They boil lean Jeju pork daily and carefully shred it to top the noodles.
It comes with a cold dongchimi (radish water kimchi) broth on the side, which you pour in bit by bit to adjust the consistency before mixing.

The special sauce is delicious, and it's loaded with bean sprouts for a nice crunch. Once you add the dongchimi broth, it gets tangier and even more savory~

Sagol Gogi Guksu (₩10,000)
Clean, rich bone broth pork noodles piled high with Jeju pork toppings.

It's already seasoned just right, so a light sprinkle of pepper is all it needs. The bone broth is perfectly seasoned, smooth and rich — like drinking a soup. The broth is so good. This is the best of the best pork noodles I've had recently.

Jeju pork noodles usually use thick noodles, but Handam Guksu uses thin noodles with turmeric powder mixed in, so even people who find thick noodles heavy can enjoy this without any trouble.

Dombe Naeng Suyuk (₩15,000)
The dombe pork, served on a cutting board, comes as cold boiled pork, so it's not greasy and has a nice chewy texture. It pairs well with the dongchimi bibim noodles, and it also makes a great makgeolli (rice wine) side dish.

Great taste and great value in one place for Aewol pork noodles — if you're tired of expensive tourist-area prices, try a bowl of the carefully made pork noodles that locals recommend at Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch :)

After the meal: Handam coastal trail
