Free rice and noodle refills with tori paitan at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong

In short

Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong is a chicken-broth ramen restaurant on Bulgwangcheon-gil in Eunpyeong, Seoul. Ordering the mild tori paitan with added tsukune chashu and a soft-boiled egg, this writer used the free rice and noodle refills to finish off the leftover broth with a bowl of rice. Between the silky tsukune chashu and the rich broth, a repeat visit is already guaranteed.

Today I went to hang out in Eunpyeong with a friend and suddenly got hungry, so we had a serious debate over lunch and landed on ramen! While hunting for a good ramen spot nearby, we found what's now our all-time favorite ramen place, and I just had to bring it to you. Let's go~~~~!!!

Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong exterior

Exterior of Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong

The exterior of Oreno Ramen! Oreno Ramen already has enough branches to be a well-known ramen chain~! Which makes me even more excited >_<!!!!!

Inside the shop and the seats — is solo dining an option?

Neatly arranged interior of the ramen restaurant

Inside Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong! It's really clean and tidy! As you'd expect from a well-known ramen spot in Eunpyeong, there were already lots of customers eating inside!?

Bar table seating good for solo dining

The first thing that caught my eye was the bar table, which looked perfect for eating solo! There were quite a few solo diners, and the turnover was seriously fast?!

Window seats with full glass windows

There are also window seats, so you can enjoy your meal looking out at the scenery through a full glass window! There's a stream right in front, so the view is nice and it looks like a great spot for a walk after eating too!

The menu board and ordering — going with tori paitan

Order kiosk placed at the entrance

As soon as you walk into Oreno Ramen, a kiosk is right in front of you — just order there!

Menu board listing tori paitan and kara paitan

True to a proper ramen restaurant, the menu is a clean lineup of just two options: tori paitan and kara paitan! I was craving a mild broth so I went with tori paitan! But of course that wasn't enough~~~~ I was so hungry... and greedy for food that I also added tsukune chashu and a soft-boiled egg haha. They also sell bottled beer and highballs, so it looks like a great spot for a drink with your meal too!

Table set up after finishing the order

Down to the barley tea and hair ties — the thoughtful setup

The moment I sat down, what I liked most was that it wasn't plain water but barley tea!!! It was really hot out and the cold tea felt life-saving...☆

Cup filled with cold barley tea

Another thing that impressed me was that they even provide hair ties!!!! Seriously, what kind of thoughtfulness is this????? Hair ties are basically an essential item for women while eating!!! Put it on right away~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Side dishes set out before the food arrives!!!! Kimchi and pickles that go perfectly with ramen!

The tori paitan arrives

The main star of the show has arrived!!!!!! Tori paitan!!!!!!!!! Tori paitan is a ramen with a milky, cloudy broth made by boiling chicken bones or breast meat at high heat for a long time — that's its charm!

A bowl of tori paitan ramen with milky, rich broth

Wow~~~~~~~~~ just look at this...........☆ A visual that already has me drooling! I didn't even drink last night — why does it feel like the perfect hangover cure...? Hahahahahahaha

Close-up view of the tori paitan ramen

Digging through the broth like treasure hunting, searching for the tsukune chashu and soft-boiled egg I added haha

Tsukune chashu and soft-boiled egg pulled up from the broth

So what does tsukune chashu taste like?

Unlike other ramen shops, Oreno Ramen doesn't make pork chashu but tsukune chashu! Tsukune chashu is chashu made from finely minced chicken or fish, shaped like meatballs! It's seriously seriously seriously soft!!!!!

Glossy cross-section of the tsukune chashu

At a glance it looks a bit like the filling inside a dumpling! Doesn't it look glossy and moist even just in the photo???

Tsukune chashu picked up with chopsticks

One bite, aaah~~~~~~~~~~~~~ honestly it melted in my mouth like cotton candy the second I bit into it... Soaking up the rich ramen broth, it has this soft texture, and every bite bursts with juice — it's genuinely genuinely genuinely delicious ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I absolutely recommend trying it!

Chicken breast topping on the ramen

Chicken breast and the soft-boiled egg

Next up, chicken breast, yum!!!!!!!! I've never had chicken breast this soft and moist in my life ㄷㄷ..... If chicken breast could always be like this, I'd happily eat it as a diet meal every single day..☆

Cross-section of the soft-boiled egg with runny yolk

The soft-boiled egg is insane too ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ It looks like it's been slow-cooked in soy sauce, and when you slice it in half, the yolk just flows right out ㄷㄷ How do you cook something this perfectly...? The salty soy sauce and the nutty egg come together for the best possible balance...!!! Every single ingredient here is just fantastic ㅠㅠㅠㅠ!!!

Spoonful of tori paitan broth

The broth, the noodles, and the kimchi combo

Alright~~~~~~~ before diving into the meal properly, it's only polite to taste-test the broth first. Slurp a sip of the tori paitan broth~~~~~~~~~~~ ah!!!!!!!!!!!!! The hot, rich broth sliding down my throat is pure, absolute happiness.

Ramen noodles lifted up with chopsticks

Now for the real meal!!!!!!! The noodles have zero flour funk and slide down chewy and springy ㅠㅠㅠㅠ!!!! Certified real ramen restaurant right here ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Kimchi served alongside the ramen

Kimchi — an absolute must for Koreans. And they give you side kimchi to go with it? The savory broth contrasted with tangy, salty kimchi. The two meeting creates perfect synergy..☆ Game over, basically.

A free bowl of white rice added on

Free rice and noodle refills!

The best part of Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong!!!!!! Rice and noodle refills are free!!!!!!!!!! Naturally, this pig went ahead and added rice too...haha

Adding rice into the leftover ramen broth

Normally I'd drink the broth clean to the last drop, but I strategically left some to mix with rice. Pouring it in reverently, with a heart full of gratitude!!!!!

There's a reason people say Koreans run on rice power. White rice meets the rich tori paitan broth and just keeps sliding right in ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ. My empty stomach feels wonderfully full now!!!!!! What a hearty meal today♡

Ramen bowl finished to the last drop

I made sure there'd be no need for dishwashing^^ hahahahahahahahahahahahaha Seriously, it was so, so delicious ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I'm definitely, definitely, definitely coming back! If you're looking for a great ramen spot in Eunpyeong, I highly recommend this place! And that's another satisfying meal in the books today >_<!!!!♡
