Anyang izakaya for salmon and beef tataki: Cheolgil Busanjip

In short

Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch is an izakaya in Anyang, Gyeonggi, near Beomgye Station. I ordered the ₩30,000 Yeontakki platter with salmon and beef tataki, plus warm odeng broth, at a table with a friend. A nice quiet choice for a casual drink near Beomgye Station.

An izakaya for a quiet drink near Beomgye Station

I visited Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch while looking for somewhere near Beomgye Station for a quick drink! Cheolgil Busanjip is actually a chain, so I’ve been to quite a few other branches too. Each one has a slightly different feel, but you can always have warm odeng (fish cake) and there are lots of menu options, so it’s somewhere I find myself going when I want a drink, haha. This time, I went to the Beomgye branch =3

Cheolgil Busanjip, an izakaya bar in Beomgye, is behind the bar street after you come out of Beomgye Station Exit 3! Personally, I don’t love the Jungang Culture Street side because it gets way too crowded, so I liked that this spot was tucked behind it and nice and quiet, haha.

What are the outdoor seats and interior like?

There are so many menu options—what more is there to say? And there’s outdoor patio seating that’s perfect for this weather right now!!! Seriously, it would be perfect for a Beomgye date. On a nice day, sitting outside for a drink would give you such a great atmosphere. It also seems like a good place to drop by for a second round in Beomgye and enjoy the outdoor vibe!

This is what the inside looked like! It was clean overall while still having that distinctive izakaya atmosphere, so it seemed like a nice place to have a casual drink with friends.

If you’re on a date, these kinds of counter seats are a must... They looked great for sitting and chatting while you eat. When it’s just the two of you, isn’t it so nice to sit somewhere like this and have a cozy drink together?! I came with a friend, so we sat at a table, haha.

A varied menu, from sets to individual dishes

There were not only individual dishes but also lots of different set menus. Their names were Gwangalli Set and Haeundae Set, haha. There were quite a few choices, from odeng and sashimi to tataki and fried dishes, so if you visit in a group, it would be easy to choose according to everyone’s taste.

Menu selection before ordering Yeontakki

Yeontakki with salmon and beef tataki

That day, we ordered the Yeontakki (salmon + beef tataki) for ₩30,000! I like both salmon and beef tataki, so I just couldn’t resist this combination~ We immediately ordered a bottle of soju too.

And one of the great things about Cheolgil Busanjip! You get odeng broth as a basic accompaniment ♡ Taking little sips of warm broth while drinking is just the best, right? It’s especially perfect when the weather is a bit chilly or you’re craving something brothy with your drinks...

After a short wait, our Yeontakki arrived! It looked pretty appetizing from the start.

The salmon and beef tataki came together, with a salad in the middle too, which I liked. When you’re eating bar food, you unexpectedly start craving something light like salad, so it was perfect to have alongside it!

Salmon, beef tataki, and salad platter

I tried the salmon first, and it was really soft and delicious. It wasn’t tough or dry at all—it went down so smoothly... If you like salmon, it’s a flavor you’ll enjoy without a doubt ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᔿ˶

And then, the long-awaited beef tataki... I already tend to love tataki, but the beef was tender, lightly seared on the outside, and moist inside, so it was so good... The salmon was tasty too, but personally, the beef tataki was absolutely my favorite.

For a casual drink in Beomgye

As expected, Cheolgil Busanjip seems like a great place to visit when you want a casual drink and a few different snacks. I’ve visited other branches from time to time, and the Beomgye branch had a nice atmosphere and menu selection too. The Yeontakki I had this time had soft, delicious salmon, but the beef tataki especially hit the spot for me.. ♡ If you’re looking near Beomgye Station for somewhere to have a drink with friends or chat over simple bar snacks, Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch seems like a good choice!
