If you want beef and hot pot together near Uijeongbu Station
I had heard so much about Supsok Oki Jip (숲속 옥이집) as a great beef spot in Uijeongbu that I kept thinking, “I should go, I should go,” and finally made my first visit this time. It is at 20 Sinheung-ro 258beon-gil, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, and it was not hard to find since it is near Red World Ramen School, a place Uijeongbu locals will probably know.

If you are driving, use the paid public underground shopping arcade parking lot at 29 Sinheung-ro 240beon-gil, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do rather than parking right in front of the restaurant! Supsok Oki Jip is known for diced beef ribs with rich marbling and Emperor intercostal meat, seasoned to order so the savory flavor really comes through. And for just an extra ₩10,000, you can enjoy offal hot pot and curry too—there really is no better “₩10,000 happiness” than that~~! I was excited even before visiting, haha.

Even the entrance has such a forest-like feel, haha. There is even a plaque certifying it as a good restaurant~~!

A clever table setup with three burners
Inside, the overall dark-toned interior worked nicely with the lighting and space, creating a subtly lovely atmosphere. There were quite a lot of tables, and everything felt comfortable! The open kitchen added to the clean feel, and there are tables upstairs too~!
The most interesting thing was that each table has three burners, haha. You can bubble away the offal hot pot on one side, keep the curry soup warm on another, and grill beef in the middle. Being able to cook hot pot, eat curry, and grill meat all at one table was such a clever combination. Haha.

The basic side dishes and crouton soup
The basic side dishes arrived neatly arranged, and among familiar dishes such as kimchi and pickles, a bowl of soup caught my eye. The pickles were mushroom wasabi jangajji (soy-pickled vegetables). They went so well with the meat~~ The soup was honestly much tastier than I expected too~! It was a smooth, nutty crouton soup, great for a light taste before the meat. Its savory flavor was quietly addictive, so I kept reaching for it, haha.

The diced beef ribs were easy to grill
Here is the menu~~! We ordered one of each. The first thing we grilled was the diced beef ribs!

As the name suggests, they came pre-cut into easy-to-eat cubes, so they were really easy to grill. Rather than placing a whole piece of meat on the grill and cutting it with scissors after it cooked, all we had to do was turn the pieces over and cook them to our preferred doneness. So convenient.

We also put king oyster mushrooms on the grill and cooked them properly alongside the meat, and it looked amazing from the start. One bite in, the beef was so tender and the juices just burst out! Maybe thanks to the marbling, the flavor was deep and it melted softly in my mouth—I could see why people call this a great beef restaurant.

Emperor intercostal meat plus ₩10,000 hot pot and curry
We also tried the Emperor intercostal meat, which they say is seasoned as soon as you order it. Perhaps because of that, the seasoning had soaked nicely into the meat and its savory flavor really stood out. The lightly sweet and salty taste paired so well with the meat that I kept reaching for more.

The offal hot pot and curry were an additional ₩10,000, so I did not have huge expectations, but they were so generously filled that they would have been good enough to sell as individual dishes~!

For dates, family meals, and group gatherings
The restaurant even has high chairs, so it seemed like a good place for dates, family meals, gatherings, or group dinners. The quality beef is wonderful, of course, but I think Supsok Oki Jip’s biggest draw is that you do not just eat meat—you can enjoy meat, offal hot pot, and curry all at once.

If you are looking for a good restaurant near Uijeongbu Station and want delicious beef with generous side dishes too, I think Supsok Oki Jip is worth a visit :)
