Bakerist Brown

A bakery café within walking distance of Sinnonhyeon Station
Today I visited Bakerist Brown, located by Sinnonhyeon Station. It is easy to get to, just a five-minute walk from the station.
It was such an atmospheric café, even from outside. It is also a large bakery café, spanning from basement level 1 through floors 1 to 3.

There are tables outside too, so now that the weather has cooled down, it looked like a great spot to have coffee and dessert outdoors.

Please note that it opens at 11:00 and closes at 22:30, while the dining area closes at 22:00.

Choose your bread and order on the first floor
The first floor is where you order: choose your bread, pay, then settle into whichever seat you like :)

The moment I stepped inside, it was filled with the smell of bread. I arrived almost exactly at opening time, and lots of breads were already out. Wow... the bakery items looked delicious just sitting there.

Basil cream cheese twist

Salt bread

- French pie
- Allumette
- Egg tart
- Pain au chocolat
- Mille-feuille / sausage pastry
- Madeleine
- Apple crumble pie
- Cream horn pastry

There were so many other bakery choices too, including croissants, mentaiko salt bread, melon salt bread, Wappu salt bread, and pastry milk bread...

Inside the display case, there were fig croissants, fig kouign-amann, Chodang sweet corn cheesecake, pudding, pavlova, and more :)

Bakerist Brown has a wide range of drinks too, including coffee, lattes, ade drinks, milk tea, and tea.

Floor-to-ceiling window seats and third-floor group seating
Bakerist Brown T-shirts are also sold in one corner of the first floor. Buy a pudding and you get a heart pie on the house.
The second and third floors have floor-to-ceiling windows, so the natural light was amazing. With sunshine pouring in, just sitting by the window and enjoying a little pause felt like it would be healing. There are comfy sofa seats too, and so many tables that it seemed like you could enjoy it even on weekends. There is group seating on the third floor as well, so feel free to use it anytime :) The restroom is indoors too, for reference 🚾

How the Gangnam Sand and salt cream coffee tasted
I ordered an iced Americano for ₩6,500, salt cream coffee for ₩7,800, and an eight-piece box of Gangnam Sand for ₩19,000.

The Gangnam Sand cookies were pretty in their colorful shades. They came in all sorts of flavors, so I really wanted to try them.
- Peanut Butter Wave: peanut & butter
- Sweet Pumpkin Jack: kabocha squash & butter
- Raspberry Blossom: raspberry & white chocolate
- Golden Hour: caramel & white chocolate
- Black Grain: black sesame & cream
- Rich Ganache: chocolate & cream
- Cream Forest: matcha & cream cheese
- London Fog: Earl Grey & white chocolate
They would make a pretty gift, and I loved being able to taste the rich flavor of the ingredients in each one.
The salt cream coffee was smooth, with French Guérande salt cream and sweet coffee coming together in a nicely balanced sweet-and-salty combination.

The iced Americano was not overly acidic and had a deep coffee aroma. It was so good with the Gangnam Sand.

I tried one of each cookie, then packed some up for my little girl. Delicious things are meant to be shared, right?!! Haha.
Bakerist Brown gave me a lovely little moment of relaxation. If you are visiting near Gangnam Station, I definitely recommend stopping by Bakerist Brown at least once.
