Suwon café for evening black sesame latte: Jeong Jiyeong
In short
Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch is a roasting café on the second floor of Starfield Suwon in Suwon, Gyeonggi. After dinner and shopping, we shared a black sesame latte, misutgaru, and an Americano while browsing beans and goods. A relaxed late-night coffee stop with plenty to see.

Where to find Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch
It is on the second floor of Starfield Suwon, 175 Suseong-ro, Jangan-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00. Last orders are at 21:30, and Starfield parking is free for six hours.

Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters is famous for good coffee in Suwon! Starting with its flagship in Haenggung-dong, it has been popping up all over Suwon, and this time I visited the Starfield Suwon branch. It is a lovely Starfield café for taking a quick break while shopping or after a meal.

Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch is near the food court on the second floor, so the route works nicely for coffee after a meal. You can spot the Jeong Jiyeong Coffee sign from afar!

An open counter and a coffee-bean aroma station
The counter, drink-making station, and pickup counter are all open, so you can watch the coffee being made. As you would expect from a roasting café, there was also a spot on one side for smelling the beans. That machine is apparently very famous and high-end—every coffee lover seems to know it!

You can smell each type of bean like this, then buy any that catch your fancy, which made me think they would be great gifts too :-)
Great Suwon coffee—and great goods, too?

This Starfield Suwon café sells everything from roasted beans to goods, so it almost has the feel of a little lifestyle shop?

They were even selling goods featuring Suwon-i, Suwon City's mascot 🐸
Coffee, lattes, and dessert menu lineup

The menu is divided into coffee, non-coffee drinks, hand-drip coffee, and desserts. I also loved that there was a lineup of signature lattes such as coconut and black sesame latte. The milk tea looked delicious too, so next time I am giving it a tryyy!

The display case held desserts including cakes, sando (Japanese-style fruit sandwiches), and madeleines, while cookies and rusks were set out by the register. Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters' mango sando is famous, but they had a fig sando when I visited. It seems the dessert selection changes with seasonal fruit!
Tables that are perfect for a quick rest

There is also a table area behind the counter, perfect for sitting down and taking it easy for a moment.

There were little Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters goods on the wall beside the inner table where we sat too 👕☕✨
Ordering black sesame latte, Americano, and misutgaru

My husband said he wanted both an Americano and misutgaru (a roasted mixed-grain drink), so the two of us ended up ordering three drinks—! 🥛🥛🥛 A sweet latte gives you a little sugar boost, then when you start feeling thirsty, a sip of Americano is secretly such a perfect pairing ⋯ ❤

You can stir the misutgaru and Americano well and drink them through a straw, but the black sesame latte needs to be drunk straight from the cup so the layers at the bottom do not mix, so it came without a straw. Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters' signature egg-carton tray was so cute too.

No matter which Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters branch you visit, drinks come in this egg-carton holder.

True to its reputation for great coffee in Suwon, the Americano smelled wonderful and had such a satisfying, nutty flavor! It was low in acidity, yet without bitterness or a burnt taste :) I came in wanting a latte, but I need an Americano for my peace of mind...

The marbling of coffee crema and black sesame was mysteriously pretty too..! It begins with sweet black sesame, then as the coffee's pleasantly bitter note comes through, it finishes with nutty milk—three flavors in one sip.

The misutgaru tasted like the sweet misutgaru we all know, but with absolutely no skimping on the grain powder. It was so rich that it could feel a little thick, so I was glad we had ordered an Americano!
A Suwon Starfield café we enjoyed until late
We had dinner, shopped, wandered around, and did not go in until after 20:00, but since Starfield itself stays open until 22:00, we could drink without feeling rushed. Plus, parking in the Starfield underground lot is free for a whole six hours ⸝ 𖤐 Being able to take care of meals, shopping, and a coffee date all in one place is the best!
If you are heading out to Starfield, I hope you stop by Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters, one of Suwon's great coffee spots, for a cup too ☕
