Korean set meal with scorched-rice seaweed soup in Ansan: Samsigi-ne
In short
Samsigi-ne Jungang Gojan is a Korean restaurant-pub in Gojan-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan, Gyeonggi. The two-person set for ₩52,000 includes charcoal-grilled pork, Korean beef brisket seaweed soup served in the pot with scorched rice inside, a mukbap-style acorn jelly dish, and a 33-second pan-rolled egg. Both the pork and the soup were so filling the writer wanted to go back despite living far away.

I ended up in Ansan with literally zero places I knew, so I was stuck for a bit — but then I found this place with a great price-to-portion ratio and a set meal that looked super filling, and I was sold. And wow, total win. The pork was genuinely delicious and the seaweed soup came in a whole pot with scorched rice inside... even though it's far from my house, I already want to go back.

A bold sign out front, an LP-bar vibe inside
You can't just walk past this place. The sign is bold and catches your eye instantly. So many places these days go for a small, cute, understated sign, but this one just goes big and makes itself seen. Bold from the sign onward — which is honestly a big plus when you're finding it for the first time and don't want to wander around lost.
Once inside, it's a Korean restaurant that somehow feels like an LP bar. The lighting is dim and low, and the vibe feels less like a place to eat rice and more like a well-decorated bar. If you go in the evening, this atmosphere really comes alive.
The tables are spaced generously too. No hearing the next table's whole conversation, no scrambling for somewhere to put your bag, no feeling awkward every time you pull your chair out. It's roomy enough that you don't feel cramped even sitting for a long time.

The chopstick rests are so cute, ugh. A place that pays attention to little details like this — it made me more excited and gave me a warm feeling toward the place.
Samsigi-ne's menu and the two-person set price

Samsigi-ne's menu board is fun. This is the first place where I felt like I bonded with the owner just from reading the menu... The menu is a set meal, so it's not scattered across a million dishes — it feels like they do one thing properly. It's genuinely savory, sweet-and-salty, not overly intense, and just tastes like a real pork specialty spot. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it.
The main dishes are the acorn jelly dish (mukbap), Korean beef brisket seaweed soup, charcoal-grilled pork, and the 33-second pan-rolled egg. All of that together is ₩52,000 for two people.

Since the name means "three siblings," if three people come, soju is ₩3,000. And if you guess the ages of the three staff correctly, you get a bottle of soju free... haha.

Acorn jelly, salad, then charcoal-grilled pork
Now the dishes come out one by one. The acorn jelly dish (mukbap) — huge portion, sweet and refreshing, so good.

They add a salad on the side. Ah, I just kept popping this in my mouth, haha.

Ta-da. The star of the show at Samsigi-ne, an Ansan Korean food favorite!! The stir-fried pork arrived. Halfway through, you can mix in garlic and cheongyang chili peppers for another round of flavor. I'm a total wimp with spice and it was spicier than I expected, so I just ate it plain the whole time, haha.

The full Samsigi-ne set is complete. Seaweed soup, acorn jelly, pork, and the rolled egg all together.

The rolled egg is so thick too.....

Seaweed soup served in the pot, with scorched rice inside
The seaweed soup at Samsigi-ne, this Ansan Korean food favorite... comes out in the actual pot. It's not treated like a mere bowl — it's like "want a whole hot pot?" haha. Usually seaweed soup or broth-type dishes come out once in a small bowl at the start, or you refill it yourself at a self-serve bar, right? But here they simmer up a whole ladleful in a pot and just bring the whole thing to you. The moment it landed on the table I thought, "Can I even finish all this?" It's not just a generous serving — it's literally a full pot.
And the taste — the beef flavor is soooo rich. There are plenty of seaweed soups out there that are salty and tasty from being simmered a long time, but this tastes like beef brisket loaded in and slowly extracted. Even the color of the broth is different, and you can see the beef fat floating, haha.
And this was a first for me — there's scorched rice inside the seaweed soup. And it's genuinely delicious. Have you ever had scorched-rice seaweed soup? It was my first time, and it's a stroke of genius.
- As the scorched rice soaks up the broth, its texture comes alive
- The broth thickens slightly and becomes so much richer
- You don't need to add rice separately — it's already a full meal in one bowl
- It even feels more nutritious somehow
It's the same seaweed soup, but the scorched rice alone turns it into a completely different dish. Eating it, I genuinely felt like I was nourishing my body. That heartiness that makes you understand why people eat seaweed soup on their birthday. Honestly, I wanted to take the leftovers home, haha haha haha. I wanted one more meal of just this soup and rice, haha.
Who I'd recommend this to
- Anyone looking for a proper Korean meal among Ansan restaurants
- Anyone who loves stir-fried pork (this place means it)
- Anyone who wants a place with atmosphere for dinner but doesn't want pasta
- Anyone who wants to have a drink alongside a proper meal, not just bar snacks
- Anyone who hates cramped table spacing
It's not aggressively spicy or salty — the savory, sweet-and-salty balance is well-judged, so it wasn't overwhelming to eat with rice. It felt like a proper, hearty meal, and I liked that :)
The atmosphere was better than I expected too, so rather than just a place to eat, it feels like a spot that also works well for having a drink with dinner in the evening.
If you're in Ansan's Gojan-dong looking for properly made stir-fried pork and a generous set meal, this is worth a visit. Especially if you're searching for Ansan Korean food while weighing value, taste, and atmosphere together, put Samsigi-ne Jungang Gojan on your list. It's the kind of place that'll come to mind on a day you want to eat well and eat a lot.
