The chilled meats at this Ansan butcher shop! You can buy a Korean pork (hanwoo/hanpork) omakase mixed grill pack, which seemed perfect for single-person households. When you're on your own but want to try lots of different cuts, it's such a shame you usually can't — this solves that.

The Korean pork mixed grill pack is made up of hangjeongsal (pork neck), kkotsal, galbi-samgyeopsal, gabrisal, and kkotmoksal, and this too is aged meat, apparently! The aged Korean pork is famous, and there's a wide variety of hanwoo (Korean beef) cuts as well! Everything comes vacuum-packed, which makes it look even fresher haha. The meat quality is really good, and if the cut you want isn't in the fridge, you can just ask the staff!

The frozen corner at this Ansan butcher shop! There's a wide range of soup ingredients you can easily heat up. Hanwoo gomtang (beef bone soup), seolleongtang, sujigomtang (beef tendon soup), and galbitang (short rib soup) all come neatly packaged as meal kits.

One pack like this is enough for a hearty, healthy meal or two. There's also frozen chadolbagi (thin-sliced beef brisket) and sirloin for shabu-shabu, and the prices were affordable!

The seasoned meats at this Ansan butcher shop! My favorite among the seasoned meats is the wang-po galbi (large-cut seasoned short rib), haha. The wang-po galbi was so well aged in its seasoning!

There's also soy sauce jeyuk (seasoned pork), gochujang jeyuk, dakgalbi (spicy chicken), and jjimgalbi (braised short rib), so even someone who can't cook can buy Morakmorak's seasoned meat, grill it, and feel like a cooking champion!

And now, the highly anticipated raw beef tartare. It's genuinely delicious here!! It's fresh and affordable. This much for ₩9,900 — isn't that an amazing deal?

Tteokgalbi deal: buy 4 patties, get 1 free

Hanwoo and Korean pork tteokgalbi (grilled meat patties) are perfect as a side dish with rice. They're running a promotion right now — buy 4, get 1 free. Five for ₩10,000 — what a deal in these prices these days, haha. If you buy the tteokgalbi and dip it in the tteokgalbi sauce, it seemed like it'd be both great value and delicious.

Morakmorak Home & Cook looked super clean and tidy as a butcher shop! There's a wide variety of meat, and the owner is so friendly, which is why I go there often.

Grilling ₩30,000 of wang-po galbi at home

I picked the wang-po galbi haha. This is about ₩30,000 worth, and the portion is really huge. If I ate this at a restaurant... it would've cost tens of thousands of won more! They gave us scallion strips and dipping sauce for free, haha.

Time to grill the meat haha. I think they packed the scallion strips with it because it pairs so well. The scallion strips were delicious too, and drizzling on the dipping sauce they gave us — genuinely amazing...

The seasoned wang-po galbi from Morakmorak Home & Cook, this Ansan butcher shop! The ribs were so tender and the seasoning soaked in so well that it was incredibly delicious, seriously amazing!! It's a flavor everyone, young and old, likes, with no strong preferences either way. Maybe because the meat quality is so good, it was so tender it melted in your mouth! Haha.

Most of all, I was so happy that my parents ate so well, haha. I need to finish this up and visit again soon. Also, since you can pay with Daon Card and Onnuri gift certificates, using those for a Chuseok gift purchase could make it even better value, haha.
