Gangnam pocha bar for autumn blue crab stew: Yeongdong Pocha
In short
Yeongdong Pocha is a seafood-and-meat pocha (Korean street-food bar) on Hakdong-ro 2-gil, 246m from Exit 3 of Nonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. After a first round at an izakaya, a second round at Yeongdong Pocha meant a seasonal blue crab stew finished with ramyeon noodles, a free ramyeontang (crunchy ramen snack) starter and an outdoor yajang table. Yeongdong Pocha is an easy call for a second round in autumn, when the spicy broth keeps the soju flowing.

Hi, it's Eunming!
After a great first round of flounder sashimi and pasta at the izakaya Koko, I was craving something spicy and hot for round two~ Crab is in season right now!! I saw a review saying the crab stew here was amazing, so I ran over to this Nonhyeon Station bar, Yeongdong Pocha, and I'm bringing you the review. Eating crab in fall is basically a national rule 🦀 Let's check out Yeongdong Pocha, a must-visit near Nonhyeon Station.

The free starter at Yeongdong Pocha: ramyeontang
They bring out ramyeontang (a nostalgic ramen cracker snack) as a free side dish, and it tastes exactly like that childhood classic — totally addictive. Ramen + soup powder, you just can't stop reaching for it~~

We ordered a fresh new bottle — spicy crab stew with a cool fall breeze and a shot of soju, what could be better? 🍂

What does the autumn blue crab stew at Yeongdong Pocha taste like?
Here comes the main event, the crab stew! 🦀 This is literally what I came to Yeongdong Pocha for haha. Maybe because it's fall crab, the crabs are seriously big and meaty. Visual check: passed! ^_^

Once it starts bubbling away, it's ready to eat. I took the first spoonful of broth...! WOW, the first sip hits you with a sharp spicy kick, and right after that comes the deep, rich umami and ocean scent of the crab — genuinely, unbelievably refreshing and spicy 😋
Absolutely perfect as a side for soju~ 👍

Spicy, hot, and refreshing — this broth is seriously the best. I'm curious what the owner's secret to the crab stew broth is 🤓

The clams, having soaked up all that crab broth, are unbelievably good — no need to say more 😍

Crab packed full of plump meat is love ❤️ It's been a while since I've had such a proper crab stew >_<

I picked out a huge chunk of crab meat and ate it in one bite. Chewy yet tender crab meat, with a subtle sweetness and saltiness rising up with every bite — it's an incredible flavor. I can't keep this to myself alone,, everyone, the crab stew at Yeongdong Pocha!! It's excellent 👏

Blue crab stew broth plus ramyeon noodles: the best part

Adding ramyeon noodles to the crab stew broth isn't optional — it's mandatory!
Adding the noodles brings a slightly starchy richness from the flour in the noodles, making the broth even thicker and deeper, doubling the umami.

I like my noodles firm, so I ate mine as a firm, chewy crab-stew ramyeon. It's too delicious to describe, so you really just have to try it yourself 🥺
Big, meaty crab, a spicy and refreshing broth, plus the ramyeon noodles — it's the kind of flavor that keeps calling for more soju. If you're looking for a great, comfortable bar near Nonhyeon or Gangnam, run straight to Yeongdong Pocha 😘 It's got the vibe, the friendliness, the taste, and the service all covered — I highly recommend it for round one, round two, or even round three.
