Yuseong drive café in Daejeon: ssanghwacha and chimney bread at Luonto

On a nice day, you don't have to travel far to enjoy a drive and a good café — if you're looking for a spot to stop by while driving around Yuseong, I want to introduce Luonto Sutonggol Branch, which I've now visited three times.

Luonto is a bit of a drive to reach, but parking is easy, so it's a great place to visit by car. The biggest reason to come here is definitely the chimney bread — being able to taste it freshly baked is why I think of this place whenever I have a reason to head to Sutonggol.

Why Luonto Sutonggol Branch is the chimney bread stop in Yuseong

What I ordered at Luonto Sutonggol Branch was plain chimney bread, iced americano, ssanghwacha (twin flower tea), and lemonade.

Both the americano and the latte were reliably good, pairing well with the chimney bread. Honestly, it's the chimney bread rather than the drinks that keeps bringing me back.

Even if you order the plain chimney bread, whipped cream comes along with it, and dipping the warm bread into the cream works really well. There's also a cute little detail — they give you finger mittens separately!

They prepare things so you can eat the chimney bread easily by hand, and I remembered that on my first visit I'd mentioned how nice it was that they give out mittens like this.

And I really recommend eating the chimney bread right when it's freshly baked. Rather than saving it and letting it sit a little, it's so much better eaten warm right away. If you visit, dig in as soon as the bread comes out.

Luonto Sutonggol Branch is spread across 1F to 3F, and to me, the 2F seating looked the most spacious. The 2F is also connected to an outdoor terrace, so on a nice day it's great to step outside and drink your coffee there.

When I visited in winter, the outdoor seats had tents set up like a campsite, but visiting again in summer with the terrace fully open gave off a completely different vibe.

On a nice day, just sitting on the terrace instead of indoors really gives you that proper drive-out feeling. The space felt spacious enough to visit with kids too, and with easy parking, it seems like a good spot for families as well.

Inside the café there's also a big screen that changes along with the music. It's not just a place to drink coffee — there's fun in looking around the space too.

Check Luonto's hours before you drive over

One slightly disappointing thing is that they sometimes close early. I've had a few visits where I showed up and had to turn back, so if you're heading over late, I'd recommend calling the store to check they're still open before you leave.

Also, the menu prices shown on Naver may differ from what's actually on the menu board in store, so it's a good idea to check the latest menu when you visit.

With easy parking and plenty of space, Luonto Sutonggol Branch was a great place to visit by car as part of a drive. If you're a fan of warm chimney bread especially, it's worth stopping by at least once. This was already my third visit, and I'd love to come back on a nice day to enjoy chimney bread and coffee out on the terrace.
